hank01 Posted November 28, 2004 #1 Share Posted November 28, 2004 We bought the tickets for the above mentioned cruise. I don't say we are going on the cruise, since I am a little bit supersticios :) It is our first cruise. And I have a question: If we don't want to go on any shore excursions, but just spend time on the beach, what do we do? Is the transpotation from the ship to the shore free of charge? If not, how much it may be? The ship is going to visit George Town (Grand Cayman), Montego Bay (Jamaica), Belize City (Belize), Cosumel (Mexico) and Key West (FL). We've been to many of those places and the only thing we want is to relax on the beach. Thank you so much for any info.
Nitemare Posted November 29, 2004 #2 Share Posted November 29, 2004 For best RCCL info, you should repost your question on the RCCL board here at Cruise Critic. Good luck!
Bequia Posted November 29, 2004 #3 Share Posted November 29, 2004 If you can't walk to the beach from the ship, grab a cab. No problem. They rely on cruiseline passengers to earn a living. Never had any trouble yet.
momofmeg Posted November 29, 2004 #4 Share Posted November 29, 2004 The ship's tender is free.(-when the ship is not able to dock.) To go to a beach though you will need to take a taxi. From what I remember the taxi in Grand Cayman to the beach was like $5 a person each way. Very affordable. The only places I know that the beach is within walking distance is Costa Maya, St. Marten, and Nassau, and ofcourse the private islands the different cruiselines own.
