pinkbirds02 Posted March 30, 2009 #1 Share Posted March 30, 2009 Just wondering where the ships dock in New York and if we fly out of La Guardia? How far is the airport from the docks? Are there taxi's or shuttles to get passengers from dock to airport?:o Looking forward to our May 17th cruise out of San Juan!!!! patval Posted March 30, 2009 #2 Share Posted March 30, 2009 http://www.nycruise.com/dirBKN.html# Brooklyn, NY is the pier and it is called Red Hook. LGA is the closest but JFK is only a few miles more away. No hotels nearby only Marriott and I believe a Choice Hotel Brand are the ones in Brooklyn close to the pier. BigGuy25 Posted March 30, 2009 #3 Share Posted March 30, 2009 Newark isn't far either. We've cruised on both the Crown and Caribbean Princess out of Red Hook, Brooklyn and both times we flew into LaGuardia and out of Newark. Just check prices and fly to/from whichever airport has the best deals!
Sandytoes Posted March 30, 2009 #4 Share Posted March 30, 2009 Brooklyn cruise terminal is located in Red Hook, opposite Governors Island. The terminal is approximately 12 miles from LaGuardia Airport. Heard that transfers cost $70 pp round. Call Princess to get a quote. Might be cheaper if you use a taxi - $35.+tip You could consider using a car service.
eagletwo Posted March 30, 2009 #5 Share Posted March 30, 2009 Newark to Brooklyn Terminal, Dial 7 sedan service, about $100 each way plus tip. Nice ride and worth the money. PS, drivers don't know where the Terminal is located.
Colo Cruiser Posted March 30, 2009 #6 Share Posted March 30, 2009 We use a car service, either Cadman or Arecibo. It is around $45 for up to 4 people from LGA to Red Hook and about a 35 minute ride. from JFK a liitle more money and about 10 minutes further.
