what's the weather like in July-Norway

Well, it depends!! When it's sunny it can be warm and when it's overcast it can get cool. Norway sometimes gets heatwaves like she had summer 2003 (I was able to wear shorts and actually sit outside and sunbathe while enjoying the scenery without getting burnt (sun is so much higher up there)).

Also, the days are LONNNGGGGG (24 hours above the Arctic Circle) but it does get cool in evenings. But it's so lovely to be outside a lot. Take a lot of layers. A fleece-lined raincoat is the key.

I did a 14 day cruise on Crystal last July to the North Cape. Once you get above the tree line, it will be cold and windy. You will need a heavy coat, warm shoes and socks, a hat and gloves. On the day we were at the North Cape, it was 3C degrees (about 37F) and very windy with drizzle. Alesund was beautiful and a light sweater was all we needed. Although it was light 24 hours, it didn't get warm at all. Actually, there was quite a bit of snow still around. If your cruise goes to Longyearbyen, which is near the Polar Ice Cap, you will definitely need a very warm coat. But Longyearbyen was really wonderful and interesting.
