Gardyloo2 Posted April 26, 2009 #1 Share Posted April 26, 2009 I've heard on the Vista class ships that VD cabins 4164 and 4166 have bigger balconies because of the stairwell between them. Can anyone verify this for the Zuiderdam? Thanks!!
jtl513 Posted April 26, 2009 #2 Share Posted April 26, 2009 All four Vistas and the Eurodam have those double-wide verandahs on 4164/66.

Gardyloo2 Posted April 29, 2009 Author #4 Share Posted April 29, 2009 Great! Has anyone been on these balconies? Do they connect with each other?
jtl513 Posted April 30, 2009 #5 Share Posted April 30, 2009 Great! Has anyone been on these balconies? Do they connect with each other?Do you mean does 4164's double-wide connect to 4166's double wide? I think they should. CC member RustaRoo has had them and posted pictures. traveljule Posted April 30, 2009 #6 Share Posted April 30, 2009 We sailed Westerdam 4/12 in 4164 and loved the balcony! Yes, the stewards can open the balcony next door (4166). My kids were in 4162 and we opened the divider and had a huge balcony! The best secret in my opinion...let's keep it that way!;)
jtl513 Posted April 30, 2009 #7 Share Posted April 30, 2009 RustaRoo's Noordam Apr 2007 album on Webshots has two excellent pictures of 4166 on page 3. They show that both ends of 4166 have the dividers that open.
Boytjie Posted April 30, 2009 #8 Share Posted April 30, 2009 All four Vistas and the Eurodam have those double-wide verandahs on 4164/66. On the Vistas it is 4164/4166 and on the Eurodam it is 4166/4168.
Gardyloo2 Posted April 30, 2009 Author #9 Share Posted April 30, 2009 Thanks! We have them held for our trip, and I'm excited. My DH is concerned about noise from the dining room below, engine noise because the cabin is low and aft, and being tossed around because the cabin is aft. We're sailing the Caribbean and Panama Canal next winter (never been there). Could anyone comment on his concerns? Many thanks!!

The only noise I remember is some from the promenade deck below our balcony, when workers were cleaning and other things. Nothing from the dining room. A bit of engine noise, maybe, but nothing that I specifically remember. Movement wasn't a problem either.
