Redeeming Worldpoints

Has anyone had any experience in redeeming Worldpoints? I have over 20,000 on one card and an additional 5,000 on another card. I was wondering what was the best use for them (I'm going on the Spirit in July). I was thinking onboard credits but how far in advance should I order them?? I figure I'd better use them now or they could disappear:mad:

Great question~

I'm wondering the same thing. We are also on the Spirit, but in September. We will be using our last $500 certificate, but have accumulated enough World Points for onboard credit. Does anyone know if we can use both?

I would call Worldpoints and confirm when and if some of your points are due to expire. I had 10,000 worldpoints and was about to redeem for OBC but then, some expired and put me back down to 8250. I called them and they told me more points were due to expire, so I had to redeem for something else before I lost even more points 3 days later!!! (unfortunately, those were not enough for OBC and I felt that spending over $1000 on misc items wasn't a good idea to try to get back to 10k points)

I redeemed 5,000 points for a $50 obc. It was a very simple process. I went to bankofamerica.com and signed into my credit card account. I clicked on the rewards tab. I found the $50 obc, clicked on details. They gave this phone #: (866)954-4077, which I called. They handled the transaction over the phone. Voila! I received a confirmation immediately and when I looked in my NCL account it was listed.

Hi Joann,

Have fun on the Spirit, we're doing the Epic inaugural, you should come!

I redeemed the same as marelind, painless. They have a pay 5000 points for $100 slot credit you might like!

Mary, in 9 NCL cruises I've never stepped foot into a casino. I always have DD with me but this year she's bringing a friend:D Maybe the slot credit is a good idea. Thanks.

Thanks for the info. That's exactly what I was looking for.

Why do you think the World Points would disappear? We just booked a cruse that leaves next April and were wondering if we should redeem now or wait until we accumulated some more points.

With all the changes coming in CC rules I'm wondering if rewards programs are going to suffer more than they already have.

How soon do the points begin to expire? I thought its was several years...since we just switched to WP's in January how can the points be expiring already?

BoA has had the World Points program for years, not just tied to NCL. Some of mine are getting ready to expire so I am rushing to use them this week for OBC.

Staying out of the casino is probably a better idea:p

World Points has been around for a long time. I just used 75,000 points to take $750. off my cruise. My World Points were with FIA Card Services and I just called the phone number that was listed there. Then I threw in my $250 Cruise Rewards down payment for a total of $1000 off my cruise. Yes, your points do expire, so go on a cruise!
