lindalans, as a matter of interest, why do you need to know this information?

If you don't like the information given will you not go on your cruise?

I know it is not just you that asks this. I always wonder why people ask this.

Because "enquiring minds want to know".

Some of us want to know this information because we have sailed HAL ships a great many times and have made friends on board. We know that sometimes some Officers/crew might be expected to be on a given ship and we hope our friends may be aboard the cruise we have booked. We look forward to seeing them the same as friends everywhere look forward to the chance to see each other when they live at a distance.

It makes our anticipation looking forward to our cruise all the more special thinking there is a chance we may see our friend(s).

For example, we have sailed with the named Maitre d' above, Wawan, a great many times but have not seen him for about 3 years. I'd LOVE to see him and knowing he was going to be on a cruise we have booked would be exciting for us. He's a delightful gentleman we are always thrilled to see.

Hope this helps you understand.

:D Your above post was your '777'. Must be a lucky day for you. Any casinos near you? Go play a slot machine and hope for three '7's ' ;)

Back to your original question........

Of course, I can't speak for OP but perhaps they have read here about a particular Officer that interests them from things they have read and they hope to have the chance to meet that person? Certainly I don't know the reason but could be any number.

There are several reasons I like to know the cruise ship personel and a couple have already been addressed. Also I like to be able to memorize names then look forward to putting a face to them when onboard. They work hard to make sure we enjoy our time onboard, so the least I can do is remember their names.

Thanks Copper John!
