weluvcruisin' Posted June 2, 2009 #1 Share Posted June 2, 2009 Can anyone give me an idea what the weather will be like in the Baltics mid July?
rool Posted June 2, 2009 #2 Share Posted June 2, 2009 Hi there, we will be doing Eclipse to the Baltics mid July next year and I have briefly looked into it. It looks like most places have an average high around 19-21. That doesn't mean to say that it won't be hotter, cooler or rainy. I live in Ireland and I suspect the Baltics climate may be as variable as I would experience. I am not looking into this cruise as a sunny holiday, more as a chance to experience some fantastic scenery and cities. Sunny weather will be a bonus but seeing as we are travelling when the averages are best should mean there is a pretty good chance of decent weather but with no guarantees :D
Ine Posted June 2, 2009 #3 Share Posted June 2, 2009 Check http://www.wunderground.com for all details of the past etc. The baltic is a large area, where weather can change by the day, so expect to dress in layers.
weluvcruisin' Posted June 3, 2009 Author #4 Share Posted June 3, 2009 Thanks for your replies. I guess I was looking for an easy answer, but layering it will be. If I take lots of clothes for layering the weather will be hot, so it's a win win situation.
Beyondships Posted June 3, 2009 #5 Share Posted June 3, 2009 I was there last year during July and we had weather similar to New England/ Nova Scotia. It was sunny but a little cool. The locals did, however, say that it was unusual and that there is often more rain.
elpam Posted June 3, 2009 #6 Share Posted June 3, 2009 Can anyone give me an idea what the weather will be like in the Baltics mid July? We were there in mid August last year, and the weather was great. We generally wore crop pants and tops and sneakers for all the walking. We carried a light jacket or sweater in case but usually did not need it. On the 14 day wonderful cruise (the Connie), we had a bit of rain once in St. Petersburg. Our guide had an umbrella for that 5 minutes, but no big deal.
New Hampshire Posted June 3, 2009 #7 Share Posted June 3, 2009 We sailed the Constellation for a 14 night Baltic cruise the last week of July and first week of August, 2008. We were truly blessed!! The crew did not want our passenger load to leave the ship as they said we brought with us the best 14 day stretch of weather ever!! We never wore a jacket the entire time, it was actually two warm while in St. Petersberg, and the only rain showers occurred during the night. It was fabulous!! I don't think you can count on that being typical.
Rare tjunmin Posted June 4, 2009 #8 Share Posted June 4, 2009 The average low is around 14 degrees Celsius and the average high is around 23 degrees Celsius. We are going in August, and are planning to dress in layers. Thom
