San Juan at Night - need info

There are a number of different things to do depending on the hours that you're in port AND the night of the week.

If you're in by 5pm and don't leave until midnight, you might consider visiting the biobay.

Other options ...

* ziplines

* guided night-time walking tours of OSJ

* Flamenco dance shows

* traditional PR dance show

* free Jazz music

* clubs

and more.

My friend, I and his parents will be going on the same port and it will be at night also. We are also looking for things to do at night. Have you found anything yet? Can anyone suggest anything fun? Thanks for any help in advance!

In old San Juan I would suggest bar hopping in "La calle san sebastian" a big local favorite and good cheap drinks or taking a walk around el "paseo de la princesa".

We also didn't get in until about 5, but contacted the Segway place and they stayed open late--they even did a tour after ours. Definately a highlight for us. You may want to contact them to see if this is an option.

Hi...I have a dumb question...what is the "segway place"? We too will be in san juan late and are really wondering what to do. Don't want to pay the ship's high excursion prices, but don't just want to stay onboard either. This is our first cruise...any advice is greatly appreciated!

Are stores in san juan open late? Are they in walking distance from the pier? Thanks!

OK.. Hot? Yes.. Humid?.. Yes.. that's the weather here all year long and gets intense in the summer months but you must get out there and experience OSJ.

Recommendations.. walk around... at your own pace and for adults try bar/restaurant hoping for tapas.

San Sebastián street is full of bars from east to west, and there is an area call SOFO (South Fortaleza Street) with nice restaurants/lounges.

You will find tons to see around.

The streets are always safe.

We were on the Freedom in May and didn't have anything planned but got off anyway to check it out. Well as soon as we got off the ship and there were numerous guys offering city tours. We decided to take a chance, and it was great. It cost us 10.00 a piece for the tour (make sure you they tell you the price before getting on the bus). They get you on their little tour bus, and you just wait a few minutes till they fill the bus with other people and off we went. They took us to a small rum store/museum, don't remember the name but we got a free glass of rum. Then he drove us around the town, went to the Federal building, got off for a few minutes, then close to small fort, not San Christopher another by the water and an old cemetery. It was well worth the price. It was like 1 1/2 hours or so. Love it. The guide was really sweet and trusting. Hope that helps.
