luckyprincess Posted July 18, 2009 #26 Share Posted July 18, 2009 Sorry to hijack, but I'm going on the FOS in January and so far the biggest ship I've been on is Radiance. Is there other options for the late night hours we're talking about in this thread on Freedom? We will hopefully be out having a great time til the wee hours of the morning, and I'm sure we'll want to temper the alcohol with a little food....:p
amybeth4 Posted July 18, 2009 #27 Share Posted July 18, 2009 Avoid meal 4? It's all I can do to actually get my 6 meals in when cruising because I want to do so much other stuff. On port days, I simply write off the thought of even coming close... Seriously I could easily eat six meals a day on a cruise. But I'm constantly reminded of the calories so I TRY to keep myself in check. If I didn't care about the calories, I would probably have food in my hand every two hours, no exaggeration. I likes me food and I'm always hungry. Otherwise I'd be 240 instead of 140. :( Damn calories...

kyriecat Posted July 18, 2009 #29 Share Posted July 18, 2009 The Sea View cafe on Radiance class ships used to be open until around 2 AM. Have they stopped that now? I'd rather have a bowl of chili than pizza at that time.

That's about it. Free pizza and other small nick nacks. Otherwise, hoard while Johnny Rockets is still open. :D

beachchick Posted July 19, 2009 #34 Share Posted July 19, 2009 Not all the ships have Solarium Cafes (unless they've been added), but those ships do have the Promenade Cafe (which is terrific). The Promenade Cafe is open nearly, but not quite, 24/7. beachchick

Remember in the "good old days" when the guys used to come into the club with the trays of finger food/desserts? I wonder why they stopped doing that? k2 Posted July 19, 2009 #37 Share Posted July 19, 2009 How about the majesty? What time does the windjammer close and is there any other late night options?
amybeth4 Posted July 19, 2009 #38 Share Posted July 19, 2009 The WJ isn't open late on the Majesty. One night there'll be a deck party starting at 11:30pm so you could pig out then. I remember going to bed around 1, 1:30 on the Majesty with a quick stop at Sorrent's (free) Pizza. They were still open and there were a few people in there. There was nowhere else to eat. They have no specialty restaurants, no promenade...and JR and Compass Deli were also closed. If you ask, they do have a YUMMY snack bowl in...um...yeah...that lounge with the piano right next to the casino. WOW I'm totally blanking on the name and they have one on every ship. JEEZ. But if you want to munch but you're not starving, have a drink and ask for a thingy of snacks. :) ***** is the name of that bar/lounge? WOW... beachchick Posted July 20, 2009 #40 Share Posted July 20, 2009 OP's question was for ships that don't have Promenade cafe, e.g. Jewel!!! Yes, and since the responses and additional questions included other classes of ships, making it a broader topic, I thought I'd mention that. Sorry if it was too much information. beachchick

I remember Radiance in particular (AK cruise) was really quiet after midnight. Sometimes I felt like the only one still awake. Brilliance was a Med cruise so there were more party people onboard.
