cookiefrog Posted July 26, 2009 #1 Share Posted July 26, 2009 Does anyone know if any of the cruiselines offer cribs onboard? Or if they rent strollers? If we have to fly for a cruise we are trying to minmize what we need to bring/check on airplanes if possible. If not is anyone experienced in what they did with their little ones or have suggestions. beckyjohns Posted July 26, 2009 #3 Share Posted July 26, 2009 Yes, you can get cribs from the cruiseships. As a side note, we took our twins (who were then 18 months) on a cruise. Because we were 4 in a cabin, we were required to book a cabin that had 4 beds, even though we didn't intend to use the 4 beds. We had asked for 2 cribs. When we got on the ship, we asked and asked and did not receive cribs in time for our kids to take a nap (they did finally show up late that night, but we sent them back). We realized that we were going to have almost no room to walk around with 2 cribs in there. So, instead, we left the convertible sofa as a sofa (not a bed), turned it around to face the wall, put the sheets and pillows on the couch and they slept there. The back and sides of the couch kept them in on 3 sides and the wall on the 4th side. In my opinion, this was the best option. True, we lost use of the couch, but we could walk around the cabin without tripping over cribs. If you have are 2 adults and 1 child, I would look for a room with a convertible sofa (as opposed to an upper bunk) and turn the sofa around for use as a crib. That way you don't lose any of the limited floor space you have.
xcell Posted July 26, 2009 #4 Share Posted July 26, 2009 I think they are more like playpacks (spelling)/playpens than actual cribs. At least that's what I had for my dd2 last year on RCI LOS.

s318830 Posted August 3, 2009 #6 Share Posted August 3, 2009 Carnival rents strollers for a set fee for the week. They have singles and doubles, and the fee is reasonable (like $25 for the week)
