Therein lies my constant struggle with Celebrity. M and S class Retreat has the intimacy that I want but inferior outdoor facilities--if any--and makeshift indoor facilities. E class has great outdoor facilities but too many Retreat passengers, completely diluting the advantage for me.

I tend to get more out of the comparison threads. Comparing is human nature. Enjoy your cruise!

That’s not what I wrote. I responded to your comment about considering it an upgrade from a regular balcony cabin.

It wouldn’t be a stretch for anybody to consider it a step up. It for sure is a step up. What you gain (YC experience) exceeds by far what you lose (a balcony).

Just for reference, on my March MSC YC cruise each butler serviced about 8-9 cabins. The level of service I received was very, very good.

Access through the fitness center is on S-class ships. You will be on Apex, an E-class ship.

Brutal. So they capitulated on the misguided "Retreat Team" concept but haven't really done much about it.

When I've seen the 22/23:1 ratio, I've assumed that this was temporary until Celebrity completed re-hiring of butlers. But you used the words "fully staffed". Are you saying that this ratio is permanent?

This is a great thread, highlighting the differences in YC across MSC ships. Thanks @CruisnDeb for starting it.

I would think that the algorithmic maturation of the move-up program is largely to blame.

Deluxe Porthole Veranda. Unlike Infinite Verandas, there is an outdoor space, smaller than a traditional balcony, with a large porthole.
