  1. Thank you for another great JamieLogical review! I know they're a LOT of work (I started to do one once and only had a picture of our cabin and one of Mr. SeaHunt standing on our balcony before I gave up and threw in the towel πŸ˜„) so I hope you know that they are much appreciated! Also I already kept a list of some of the drinks you listed in your previous reviews, and now have a couple more to add and try. I have no idea why but I usually stick to old favorites and really want to try and break out of that rut - I need to be more fearless LOL 🍸 πŸ§‰πŸΉ
  2. Wondering if that includes any mention of any of the Noro issues while you were onboard? AFAICR I have never been on a ship with an active outbreak, so I am just curious how/if they acknowledge it (by Captain announcement, info on their response in the dailies, etc.). Not that it would scare or worry us at all, besides maybe making us give other passengers the side eye (just kidding). πŸ˜‰ https://www.cdc.gov/nceh/vsp/surv/outbreak/2024/Sapphire-Princess-4-25.html We have been on different lines on the very next cruise after a report, and have even seen crew in Hazmat gear deep cleaning while boarding, but if we hadn't asked the crew we would have never known why the big effort. That's what makes me wonder about what you're told when it's during the cruise you're on. BTW we never experienced any problems with all the very next cruises across lines - they all have their response regimes down pat.
  3. Where's everyone for sail away? MDR? Upper looks pretty sparse...oh, aft is better.
  4. I think anyone in the area who owned any kind of boat was out there today...whew! I bet there was a touch of 🀒 on some of the tiny ones bobbing up and down and side to side, but maybe that's just me (and my own experience with tiny boats and mal de mer) LOL.
  5. Do you think it would have something to do with the FLL air show? Not sure, but maybe they boat out and watch? https://fortlauderdaleairshow.com/
  6. I don't know if this info from June 2023 is still pertinent re any figures as of today (cases mentioned are from 2022), but might explain the thinking a little πŸ™ƒ: "Europe is experiencing a warming trend where heat waves and flooding are becoming more frequent and severe, and summers are getting longer and warmer. This creates more favourable conditions for invasive mosquito species such as Aedes albopictus and Aedes aegypti. Ten years ago, in 2013, the Aedes albopictus mosquito was established in 8 EU/EEA countries, with 114 regions being affected. Now in 2023, the mosquito is established in 13 countries and 337 regions." <and> "In 2022, 1 133 human cases and 92 deaths of West Nile virus infection were reported in the EU/EEA, of which 1 112 were locally acquired in 11 countries, the highest number of cases since the peak epidemic year in 2018. Locally acquired cases were reported by Italy (723), Greece (286), Romania (47), Germany (16), Hungary (14), Croatia (8), Austria (6), France (6), Spain (4), Slovakia (1) and Bulgaria (1). In 2022, 71 cases of locally acquired dengue were recorded in mainland EU/EEA, which is equivalent to the total number of cases reported between 2010 and 2021. Locally acquired dengue cases were reported by France (65 cases) and Spain (6 cases)." https://www.ecdc.europa.eu/en/news-events/increasing-risk-mosquito-borne-diseases-eueea-following-spread-aedes-species
  7. Wowser! I hope everyone clicks on your "Pictures Link" in the OP, because your photos are the best ever! 😁
  8. I know you decided on Silhouette (one of my favorites), but just for fun, if you haven't seen Emma Cruises recent youtube review of the Infinity sailing from Athens it's worth watching IMO 😊
  9. Why bring an air mattress when you can just take your mattresses from your room and put on your balcony. That's definitely the bed by the balcony floorplan LOL πŸ€ͺ (Seriously though the cruise lines will have to watch out for this because it is all over SM now and there are many comments with people saying they are going to do this on their next cruise)
  10. Hope you got the BOGO deal that ended yesterday (for travel through May 31) πŸ€žπŸ˜‰ Rail operator: Brightline Deal: Buy one ticket, get one free Routes: All Florida routes Travel dates: Through May 31 When to book: By April 6 How to book: Directly through Brightline using the promo code "NOJOKE24"
  11. If the article upthread in post #6 is correct, JMO it sounds to me like the brother and father did not supply anything but were looking for him, and when they found him the dad was on his case: β€œI had hung out with him and his brother in the hot tub until 3:30,” passenger Bryan Sims tells The Post. ” It was standing room only. He sat right beside me the whole time.” β€œHe was pretty drunk,” Sims continues. β€œAs we were walking from the hot tub back to the elevators, his dad and brother were walking towards us. His dad was fussing at him for being drunk, I guess.” β€œWhen we got to them, he said to his dad, β€˜I’ll fix this right now.’ And he jumped out the window in front of us all.” So heartbreaking. And how does your family ever get over witnessing that? <shivers>
  12. Could be. I've been on quite a few sailings delayed by cleaning from the previous cruise. It's a little jarring when boarding to see some busy crew moving around in hazmat suits, but there's never been any problems on any of my subsequent cruises, so apparently they do know how to handle it. Or my efforts to keep healthy work lol. Here's the CDC info for that sailing: https://www.cdc.gov/nceh/vsp/surv/outbreak/2024/Koningsdam-3-8.html Cruise Line: Holland America Line Cruise Ship: Koningsdam Voyage Dates: February 17–March 24, 2024 Voyage number: 286 Number of passengers who have reported being ill during the voyage out of total number of passengers onboard: 98 of 2,522 (3.89%) Number of crew who have reported being ill during the voyage out of total number of crew onboard: 12 of 961 (1.25%) Predominant symptoms: diarrhea, vomiting Causative agents: norovirus
  13. LOL Looks like lots of us were on the Redneck Bob look out! @leerathje I also grabbed the flag just in case it was a flag and not a hand!
  14. Are they even better than the Utz Lobster Chips? πŸ˜„
