Is 30 min after docking enough time to make shore excursion?

Sailing on the Pearl to Alaska May 16. Ship arrives in Juneau at 2 pm and Taku Lodge and 5 glacier seaplane excursion leaves at 2:30. Can we make it ?

Ditto for Victoria. Ship arrives at 6pm and Orca exploration and wildlife excursion leaves at 6:30. Can we make it ?

Most private tours know when the ship will be docking.....are you

going on an independent tour? I can't imagine that the tour operator

will not wait an extra few minutes in case things are running a bit late.

But yes, I think 30 minutes is good......just be prepared to disembark

as soon as the ship ship docks.

If going through a ship's excursion? They will normally wait for

their guests too;)...after all, it is the ship you are on:)

It all depends on where you have to go to meet the tour. If it is on the dock, it should not be a problem. If it is at one of the marinas, you are not going to make it.

These are independent tours? Have you asked the vendors if they are? There is no issue if a ship excursion. Their times are flexible.

One point I will make- I will say, likely, no you won't be able to take these tours independent. One point you probably aren't realizing- is EVERYONE wants off the ship with these late afternoon arrivals and LONG lines are always backed up for getting off the ship. Juneau- you are also at the AJ dock, so, you would have to have your pick up there, again, contact the vendor, and ask.

With Victoria- if independent, even less likely. The tour will not be anywhere near Odgen dock, and the whale watches don't have shuttles.

Thanks for the replies. Both are ship excursions

Ship tours aren't offered unless you can make them. :)

However- with your Victoria selection-, unfortunately this tour is shorter than the usual tours, meaning, less chance of successfully seeing orcas, since they have to be within closer range.
