I'm not exactly sure what you're asking. Have you seen this? http://www.royalcaribbean.com/shoreExcursions/product/detail/view.do?sourcePage=shorexByPort&ProductCode=NS89&DestinationCode=

It tells you what is included in the excursion.

We haven't done the beach day through Royal Caribbean but we did it once directly through Atlantis. We had access to the beach plus the Dig's aquarium and the lagoons.

Thanks for the info. I was hoping to find someone who has been on the shore excursion through Royal Caribbean.

I have been on the site many times, signed up for the excursion, and even spoke with a representative. It is still not clear whether the shore excursion includes access to the aquariums or there is an additional fee. The site encourages visiting it, but doesn't actually say that it's included. I know the Atlantis has a beach pass, which includes access, but am not sure this is exactly the same as when you book the excursion through the cruise line.

Enjoy! Be sure to see the predator lagoon. I really liked the turtle lagoon too although it's a bit of a trek. It's over by the older Beach Towers. Bring comfortable shoes because Atlantis is HUGE. And bring some bottled water because food and drinks are crazy expensive at Atlantis.

I don't mean to come across as an imbecile, but I'm still fuzzy on this.

My wife and I visited Atlantis back in '99 and just walked in through the hotel lobby and went through the lagoon area and then to the beach. There were no wristbands or charges that I was aware of. It sounds like now, access to those areas is restricted to guests of the resort or people with day passes.

My simple question... We are taking a RCI cruise in December '15 and would like to visit the lagoon area again with our children. I don't really want to book the RCI excursion, because I prefer the freedom to come and go as we please. All we want to do is visit the lagoon (The Dig?) to look around. If we take a taxi to the hotel, can we purchase a pass there, or do we need to get them ahead of time from somewhere?

If so, where and how much? I'm clueless.

I read something on the resort's website that said something to the effect of "after March 1, 2015 only guests of the resort will be allowed access."

Kowale, a lot has changed since 1999. :) The latest is that only guests of the Atlantis hotels or cruisers can purchase day passes. As a cruiser, you either have to purchase the pass through the cruise line or you have to show proof that you are a cruiser at the hotel. Who knows what will change again between now and December! I would just keep checking back on this forum for updates.

If your cruise line offers the Digs pass, you may want to go ahead and book with them.

We have stayed at Atlantis as guests, and the aquariums are in the common areas of the hotel. There is no reason you can not walk around and enjoy all of the aquariums around the hotel.

Enjoy!

You can no longer walk around the hotel without a pass of some sort. I've heard security becomes more lax after 6 pm or so. It's very easy to grab a cab and get tonAtlantis to buy a pass, although the aqua adventure isn't always available.

The aquariums are no longer accessible to outsiders. You either have to be a guest or be a cruiser buying a pass.

Security is tight.. but they are more lax after the waterpark closes.

Security will stop you at the door.

So, can I buy the passes at the hotel (showing my seapass card), or do you recommend purchasing the cruise line's excursion?

You can do either. Buying thru the hotel is usually cheaper, unless your excursion is discounted as half day..

When we called Atlantis, they said there are a limited number of beach passes each day. To be safe, we decided to go with the shore excursion. The cruise line also told us that one benefit of booking a shore excursion with them is that they'll wait for you if there's some sort of delay getting back to the ship.

We are doing the dolphin encounter, too. RCI's dolphin excursion goes to Blue Lagoon, so we would probably miss Atlantis entirely. It looks like Dolphin Cay is our best bet. It's $20 more pp, but we'll get access to Atlantis and can stay as long as we'd like. (RCI's Atlantis "beach day" only gives you about 4 hours at the resort.)

Make sure your excursion gets you access to atlantis waterpark, beach and digs. Some only give you access to Dolphin Cay and Dolphin beach (which is not a swimming beach as you are not allowed in the water).

Aha! Sneakey little ----s. They claim "spend the rest of your day enjoying access to Dolphin Cays luxurious private beach."

I'm about to cancel the Bahamas trip and go to Pittsburgh instead. :(

I just purchased two passes to the Atlantis through bahamasdaypass.com for our upcoming June 22nd Majesty trip. We really liked the fact that we got the admission to the waterslides and pools as well as the beaches and digs for $30 less per ticket than the cruiseline was offering. Also, since our ship is in port from 8am unitl midnight we wanted to be able to take a cab to get there earlier than 9am or 10am and stay beyond 3pm to play in the casino or enjoy dinner after being in the sun all day. I'll try to remember to come back and post after my return!
