We are doing a 11 day cruise out of Fort Lauderdale in Jan..

Plan on staying at the Embassy Suites the day before.

Want to do something really fun for the kids (me too) for that day.

So just bought everyone tickets to the Miami vs Pat's game ...

Go Pat's !!!!!

Anyone else done this??

No. We usually meet up with Cruise Critic friends.

Congratulations though! You should always do fun and different things on vacation!:D

We just recently attended a tattoo festival in Puerto Rico. It was being held at our pre-cruise hotel. We don't have tattoos, and we don't plan on getting any. It was an interesting, fun and unique addition to our vacation experience. :D:):D

When we cruised out of Baltimore in 2009, we spent 2 nights there pre-cruise. Cruise sailed on Friday, and we drove down on Wednesday. Thursday we went to the aquarium and did some touring around the inner harbor area, and then shopping at Arundell Mills after dinner. Friday morning we toured the Orioles baseball stadium and had lunch in the "warehouse" before heading to the ship. Was definitely one of our more enjoyable pre-cruise starts to a vacation.

That sounds like a great way to spend the day before your cruise.

One of the best things is you won't mind so much if your team loses since you will have a fun cruise to look forward to.

Thanks...

Miami is our least favorite team... and of course the New England Patriots

is our FAVORITE....

All of this the cruise and game is a surprise for Christmas... nobody knows.

When you say 'kids' with no reference to age I wonder if they have even been to a football stadium before. Most parents here no longer consider an NFL game (or even an NCAA) a family experience. While Sun Life Stadium does not sink to the level of New York, Philly or Oakland your kids will be getting quite an earful of language and eyeful of conspicuous consumption for three or four solid hours. (Feel free to disregard if your 'kids' are actually 'teens' or thereabouts).

Yes, they are teens..

Actually DH's grandkids. raising them and my DS 27 y/o

Nobody but me ever has been to an NFL game and that was many moons ago in Foxboro

There is non alcohol section... in hopes that will be less cursing and actions.

But thanks for reminding me..

Keep in mind that the stadium is a HUGE party. There are bars and nightclubs everywhere in the stadium.

Be prepared for the no alcohol section to be filled with buzzed people.

Probably tame compared to any other NFL stadium in the north in January, especially the outdoor ones lol.

Imagine all those FROZEN people from 35 degrees in the north coming to South Beach for a long weekend and an outdoor football game where it is 85 degrees.

Tame? Hahahahahaha!!!
