Ft. Lauderdale beach hotel

I need help.

What is a great family (DH, Me, 16 DD) hotel on the beach? We get off the NCL Getaway 7/18 and are flying out of FLL on the 20th. Things to do and see are more important then price (but wouldn't want to go over $250 a night). I really like the Embassy Suites Deerfield beach but the reviews are just ok?

What do you suggest, I have the Lago Mar reserved, is it worth $250 plus a night?

Also on Last Minute Travel I could get the Pelican Grand for $196?

We will have a rental car.

We got the Westin Ft Lauderdale Beach on Hotwire sometime back for August. $99.

Lago Mar is set on the beach in a quiet neighborhood off the main beach area. Unless you are planning on not leaving the grounds often to see the city, I wouldn't stay there. It IS a very nice property. But you'd need cabs to see different parts of the city.

The Marriott properties on the beach are a better location.

Having a car along the beach hotel area isn't necessary. Just an additional $ 20 for parking.

The Lago Mar is fantastic for the price.

Love the beach and you can even see the cruise ships arriving and leaving.

I highly recommend it.
