Noreen411 Posted November 25, 2016 #1 Share Posted November 25, 2016 Hi We're still finalizing our plans for our stop in Barbados. We thought about the caves, the Concorde tour, renting a car, and I'm leaning towards the Boatyard. Do we need to make advance reservations or can we just show up? Thank you in advance for your help Noreen
JohninDC Posted November 26, 2016 #2 Share Posted November 26, 2016 You cannot make reservations at the Boatyard - just show up, pay up, get your writs band, choose a lounge chair, and order your free drink!

SG65CB Posted April 14, 2017 #5 Share Posted April 14, 2017 Some Boatyard tips since this thread is here: Get a taxi/van specifically going to the Boatyard, they have their own entrance. Get there early if you want an umbrella for your chair, even earlier if you want a good location closer to the water. Don't get there too late - the day we were there they announced around noon that they were full and not letting anyone else in. When you arrive make a reservation for the turtle boat if you want to swim with the turtles (free). They will call out your name when it is your turn to go. The little stub hanging off your wrist tag is your ticket for a free drink.

ColoradoGurl Posted May 10, 2017 #10 Share Posted May 10, 2017 How much is a taxi ride there from the port. Or is it walkable? It's only $5 per person for a ride there. The ride is very short. People have said it's walkable, but I didn't try nor did I pay attention to the sidewalk situation along the way, but it didn't take long to get there. Once you're there and have gotten into the boatyard, they will give you a free ride back. Another tip for the boatyard: you can buy their spicy pepper sauce (it's like mustard but REALLY spicy!) for $3 at the gift shop. JohninDC Posted May 10, 2017 #11 Share Posted May 10, 2017 You can walk there in about 20 or so minutes - come out of the port, bear right and keep the water on your right side.
