mondas42 Posted September 13, 2014 #1 Share Posted September 13, 2014 Hi We are old hands with RCI, but moving to p&o for the first time with a 12 night cruise next August. I understand that p&o charge cheaper prices for drinks, but neither myself or my wife are big drinkers. On RCI you can get water/fruit cordial and flat lemonade as well as tea and coffee free at any time of the day from the self serve machines outside the windjammer near the pool. Is there the similar option on p&o? Many thanks Martin

BrianI Posted September 13, 2014 #3 Share Posted September 13, 2014 You also get a kettle, tea, coffee and biscuits in your cabin so you can make a hot drink anytime. Brian

Rare Cloudyrain Posted September 13, 2014 #7 Share Posted September 13, 2014 I would recommend those Robinsons squash drop things. Dont get me wrong I like water, drink 2 litres per day, but I don't think the water dispenser water is that nice, maybe it's the glasses it's in with washing up residue??? Rare P&O SUE Posted September 14, 2014 #8 Share Posted September 14, 2014 You can also bring onboard your own drinks to have in your cabin, so I took some cans of coke and tonic water and put them in our fridge. Very handy!
richleeds Posted September 14, 2014 #9 Share Posted September 14, 2014 (edited) One thing you will miss coming from RCCL or any other US line is ice - yes you can ask your steward to fill your ice bucket, yes you can queue and ask for a glass of ice at the bar but unlike US lines where ice is freely available along with the water dispensers in the buffet, it isnt on P&O and the water out of the dispenser is not overly cold and as Cloudyrain says above it doesnt taste very nice. Onelung Posted September 14, 2014 #10 Share Posted September 14, 2014 Do they have fresh milk in the cabins or is that artificial stuff? Also, does anyone know what teabags they use? I'm quite fussy about my tea so may need to bring my own:D

I think the tea is english breakfast, not bad:) Molly
BrianI Posted September 14, 2014 #12 Share Posted September 14, 2014 (edited) Tea used is Twinings. Different types stocked. Brian Edited September 14, 2014 by BrianI
FLUFFY01 Posted September 14, 2014 #13 Share Posted September 14, 2014 As Brian said they use Twinings and they have a good variety of teas including fruit teas. I love Earl Grey and ask my cabin steward to leave me some in the cabin, although some stewards do not do it.
