Comparison Help - 2nd cruise

I know, it's a first time cruisers thread and this will be our 2nd, but it seemed to fit best in here :)

What are some over all differences we can expect going from a Carnival extended balcony to a Celebrity oceanview? The same itinerary can be had for the same price.

In short, we absolutely loved our Carnival extended balcony cruise. Since we traveled in January and it was a week long cruise, we saw nothing of the "trashy" type things some people mention about Carnival and there were almost zero children. We thought everything was clean and neat inside as well, so we are not really looking at a comparison of the people on board or how clean the ship is. Additionally we were impressed with the Carnival food so we are not really looking for a meals comparison. Basically if we were spoiled by the extended balcony, would we be let down with an oceanview on Celebrity?

Again, the cruises are the same itinerary at just about the same date on a Southern Caribbean cruise, it's just for the same price you only get an oceanview on Celebrity. Not comparing passengers, food, or decor, is there a reason to switch lines with just an oceanview when we could have a balcony? As mentioned, we were extremely happy with everything on our first Carnival cruise.

(if you reply with a response comparing other passengers, food or decor of the ship, you shalt be Internet whipped 6 times with a painful weapon) :D

Thanks!

Even going from a balcony (extended or otherwise) to an ocean view cabin on a Carnival ship would be a different experience. If you just want to sail on Celebrity to give it a try, then go ahead. There are a number of people that like to try out different cruise lines (regardless of cabin type) just to see which one suits them the best. Who knows? You just might like Celebrity too. Now wouldn't that be awful.

I would base my decision on better service and better facilities and included items to go to celebrity but if the balcony is something you really love then you personally need to weigh up which differences are important to your choice

Enjoy

Celebrity. Celebrity. Celebrity. With or without a balcony.

You can have a balcony some other cruise.

Now it's your chance to experience the X, so go for it. See for yourself why and how X can sell the OV at the same price level with Carnival balcony, and still getting bookings.

Enjoy the difference! Happy cruising!
