Celebrity speciality restaurants- should I book on board or before?

Are there any advantages to booking speciality restaurants before boarding? Any suggestions for specialty restaurants.

Thank you.

What ship are you sailing on? There are differences between what specialty restaurants are available. All ships now have Tuscan Grille (Italian Steakhouse) and Qsine (quirky tapas type restaurant better with a large group) and Sushi on 5 (ala carte). S class ships also have Murano (French classic). In addition Reflection and Silhouette also have Lawn Club. Equinox has Silk Road (Asian). If you are particular about which day and time you want to dine and can't be flexible, maybe booking ahead is best for you. We prefer to book on board since there are often good deals offered once on board especially if you don't care what time you dine and don't mind eating early or late. As to the question of recommendations, that's personal preference. We love Murano with the tableside food preps and wonderful service and look forward to it every cruise.
