Hi can anyone tell me the booking conditions if I book through the US site, specifically if I need to cancel if outside if final payment is there a penalty and if the price drops do they still honour and alter price?? Also as US has a buy one get one free that seems to have inflated the prices are they likely to drop again. Looking at oasis next May.

Thank you for all replies

We always book through a U.S. Travel agency, and our agent has always informed us of price drops and applied them to our booking.

Cancellation charges are based on how many days you are near to final payment, like UK travel agents. The nearer you are the higher percentage of the cruise price you'll pay.

Our U.S. Travel Agent sent us the cancellation penalty list for our Celebrity cruise next November ( copied and pasted below)

Celebrity Cruise Line

75 or more No charge

74-57 Deposit amount

56-29 50% of total price

28-15 75% of total price

14 or less No refund

That's the cruise line's policy applied by the TA.

Oh you mean through the RCI U.S. web site as opposed to the U.K one? That I can't help you with I've never done that, I used an American Travel Agent to get benefits and better prices in our experience. But I'm sure someone on CC can help you.

I don't think the website will let you book through US, it will revert to UK. As others have said you need to use an agent, we do this from Australia also. Naming travel agents is however forbidden on these boards so you will need to do a google search. We use an 'outlet' that specialises in 'cruise vacation'

Edited to add: there is no message function

Ha ha we use that same outlet from the US for Royal Caribbean and have saved over a thousand pounds on a cruise for next summer for two of us. Find it hard to believe the difference. We prefer to use our UK lady but she can't compete with that.

The particular vacations company can't book Holland America and some other lines but will tell you which they can if you email them. Sorry no way to message you - think the rule is silly but hey ho!
