pieshops Posted February 26, 2016 #1 Share Posted February 26, 2016 We will have 3 stops in Vietnam, 1 in Taiwan, 2 in Thailand and 1 in Cambodia. We have only done Caribbean and Europe cruise and in Europe they took our passports and returned them after the first non EU port. Will they do the same on this trip? Do you physically have to present your passports exiting the ships in any of these ports? If yes, in Vietnam, will we have to do this in every port or just the first one (the other 2 are directly after the first with no other countries in between)? Lastly, We will have a suite so will have priority tendering and disembarking so if we need to present our passport how much time should we budget for getting through customs? Thanks in advance

Thanks in advance What cruise line are you taking? They will take all your passport on the first day of the cruise and give you back on the last day of your cruise. Suites will probably be the first few tags for disembarkation. Edited February 26, 2016 by WaveSplasher

Rare Keith1010 Posted February 27, 2016 #4 Share Posted February 27, 2016 They usually take your passports on these cruises. If you were staying over at a hotel you would take it with you. Otherwise it is best to always keep them on the ship. Much safer for you not to worry about losing or having your passport stolen. Keith
Hobar Posted February 28, 2016 #5 Share Posted February 28, 2016 (edited) Only need to take passports if you are leaving ship to stay overnight and join ship next day or two in another port. That's because the hotel will need your passport. And in that case, you also have to notify the ship in advance of the cruise.
