World Gallery Posted October 25, 2012 #1 Share Posted October 25, 2012 I have been tracking flights from New Orleans to NYC (any airport) for over a month. The prices have me confused. Our dates Feb. 8th -18, what we thought was a very "slow season" for flying into NYC. These are direct flights for 5 people from New Orleans to NYC: $291 - $330 for Delta $466 - $643 for United $714 - $ 938 for Jet Blue (this one is baffling to me. I have never heard of anyone paying this much and l have talked to friends that always use Jet Blue from New Orleans to NYC and they say this is crazy.) Should I book the cheapest Delta flight now? Is there a chance any of these prices will go down? We have flown from New Orleans several times in the past few years and have not seen prices this high. Thanks. Zach1213 Posted October 25, 2012 #2 Share Posted October 25, 2012 There is not much of a low/slow season to one of the business capitals of the world... That's being said, Delta seems fair. United seems to range from the upper end of fair to quite high. JetBlue is ridiculous.
Globaliser Posted October 25, 2012 #3 Share Posted October 25, 2012 These are direct flights for 5 people from New Orleans to NYC:$291 - $330 for Delta I see non-stops on DL for $266. What's wrong with that? Monday 18 February 2013 is Presidents Day, which could have some effect on traffic demand and therefore pricing.
Rare Keith1010 Posted October 25, 2012 #4 Share Posted October 25, 2012 Do more research. I just looked quickly at AA and found prices lower than what you showed except for Delta for LGA and EWR and I really wasn't looking for lowest price. Also look at Southwest. I would just take your time because there are other options out there including what Gloabaliser posted which looks like a super price. Rare Gardyloo Posted October 25, 2012 #5 Share Posted October 25, 2012 The OP reported on Fodor's that the tickets are now purchased.
World Gallery Posted October 25, 2012 Author #6 Share Posted October 25, 2012 Thanks everyone. I purchased them but we have another trip to NYC in July of 2013 so I am going to start tracking them now. I wish Southwest did direct flights from NOLA but they dont.
