Stopping before Sapphire?

Hello! Based on the reviews/posts we're going to try Sapphire Beach this cruise. Is there a place near the port that we would be able to stop and grab snacks/drinks before going? Will we have a problem getting on the beach with our own food?

Our kids are 6, 6 and 8 so I don't want to chance them getting hungry-whiny ;p

Sapphire has a grill and full bar on the beach and there is a full service restaurant specializing in pizza up at Sapphire Village

The Gourmet Gallery has good quality food but is expensive

There is no problem bringing food or drinks on to the beach. I think a lot of the cruise folks bring food from the buffet at the ship
