Beware Cab from Port to Airport in Tampa!

Sign clearly said $25 flat rate to airport and port worker said "make sure he only charges you $25" yet when we get to the airport the cabbie tries to charge us metered fare and claims to not know anything about the flat rate and pretends to call someone to check this. Yeah, right.

Yeah, right he did not know the fare, but knew the route to TPA. Would hve gotten the cab number and his name and made a formal complaint.

I also would have written down the cab number and filed a complaint but it's still good that you passed this along as a reminder for people to watch out for scams like this.

Same here, though I'd also make a show of whipping out the camera/phone, snapping pics of cab number and driver for the complaint.

Was that cabbie originally from Philly? :confused: Drivers like that get $25 from me - AND NO TIP!!! :mad:

I always offer to ask the local police monitoring traffic to come over and clarify the correct fare - that usually ends the conversation.

I would just hand him the $25 and walk away. What is he going to do, call the cops? He is in the wrong.
