csr10236 Posted September 22, 2017 #1 Share Posted September 22, 2017 Hello, fellow cruisers. I am sailing out of Miami in March (spring break). Hotels are very high so I have been looking at airbnb and VRBO for alternative lodging. The more reasonably priced accommodations are in the Coral Gables area or in an area called Grove (?) . We want to spend some time exploring Miami (Little Havana, Wynwood walls and South Beach). We are willing to use Uber to get to and from any areas we want to visit just not sure how far these neighborhoods are to what we want to see. In addition we would like to be close to restaurants and nightlife. Thanks for any help you can give me.

JohninDC Posted September 22, 2017 #3 Share Posted September 22, 2017 Coconut Grove "The Grove") is a fun area of Miami. Do lots of homework on private rentals before booking anything.

I've noticed some places don't have reviews and I'm more comfortable booking thru VRBO than AirBnb although some properties are listed on both. After all the fees it ends up being closer to 400 total for two nights.

Rare Host CJSKIDS Posted September 23, 2017 #8 Share Posted September 23, 2017 That's a tough weekend! I even looked at some of the smaller hotels around here and haven't found anything in that price range. Sorry!
anonmom Posted September 24, 2017 #9 Share Posted September 24, 2017 Do you have the IHG app and the IHG credit card yet? Miami Beach Holiday Inn in Mid Beach and several IHG brand airport locations are available for 30k-40k points per night. When I applied a few months ago, they were still offering 80k points as a sign up bonus. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Forums mobile app
