Honeymooners in Aruba, September 18

Hey there! We will be on our honeymoon in September and we have a stop in Aruba. We are there from 8am until 4pm.

Typically we would just taxi to a beach and try and see a cool sight or two, maybe take a pic, in said taxi. Any suggestions for a nice beach with availability to rent loungers, get a drink and any suggestions on a "don't miss" sight to or from said beach??

Anything that would be especially nice for honeymooners near cruise port (nice romantic spot, or restaurant), or a more "splurge" beach/day pass??

I don't know why it's not working, as I just tried it and it was fine.

Can you scroll down this forum and click on threads discussing your question? Does that work? Here's a couple:

I don't think there are any "don't miss" sights between the cruise port and Palm or Eagle Beach.

Since you're only in port until 4pm, two possibilities. First, take a cab to Amsterdam Manor at Eagle Beach and rent chairs. I believe the "official" DiviDivi Tree used for pictures is at the northern end of the beach (a short walk). Around noon take a cab and have lunch at El Faro Blanco at the Lighthouse and enjoy a spectacular view looking south. Allow a good 30 minutes by cab to get back to the ship. (I like to be on the very safe side timewise.) Have somethig to throw over your bathing suits since most cabbies will not let people in their cabs from the beach since they assume the suit is wet.

Our absolute favorite place in the Caribbean! You get off the ship, hang a left, walk a block to the Renaissance Hotel, go to lobby and check in at their desk and inquire if they have spots open. If their hotel is fully booked the answer will be no, which has only happened once in our 6 visits. Go early! Don't let any rain derail your plan as it will clear up. It will cost close to $100.00 pp. If you goggle the hotel it may list the current cost or read this site. Now the fun part. You will board a small boat in their lobby (I love this part) and then motor to the island...about 15 min. Now you arrive to your island fantasy. The cost includes lunch, 1 drink, chair, shade cover, beach water toys, kayak. The beach is very lovely. The water is serene. There are two sides; naughty and family. Naughty is topless..a common thing in the Dutch culture. There are lizards, pink flamingos and iguanas on the island. Check the boards here to read more about this lovely island. Enjoy your honeymoon!!!
