thecruiserofships Posted February 14, 2015 #1 Share Posted February 14, 2015 Many probably already know, but Carnival's old M/S Celebration is now sailing again from Palm Beach, Florida, as the Grand Celebration (Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line). The ship does two night voyages to Freeport. I have a few pictures of the ship's exterior to share. http://www.embarkandaway.com/general-cruise-blog/seeing-the-grand-celebration-former-carnival-ship-in-freeport A Few Similarities and Differences To The Old Celebration: If you look at the photos carefully you will notice the funnel is just a painted Carnival whale tail and on the side of the ship you can see markings of where the old Carnival logo used to be. The ship's red stripe is also long gone. I have had fun zooming in on these photos on my computer looking for similarities to when the ship was the M/S Celebration for Carnival. Enjoy! swscruiser Posted February 15, 2015 #3 Share Posted February 15, 2015 The MS Celebration Started us cruising in November of 1988. It was a great Vacation and 41 cruises later we still have fond memories of our very first cruise. Keith & Shelley

mattcj89 Posted February 15, 2015 #8 Share Posted February 15, 2015 Any reason why you don't just post the pictures to the thread, or are you just fishing for people to go to your site?
thecruiserofships Posted February 15, 2015 Author #9 Share Posted February 15, 2015 (edited) Any reason why you don't just post the pictures to the thread, or are you just fishing for people to go to your site? I don't know how to post pictures to threads. Each time I try they publish with a small red X. I am not fishing for people to visit my site. This hurts my site data because most people will quickly come visit my site and this decreases my stats for the amount of time people are online and lowers my page viewing average. The moderator must have not had a problem as he or she has now moved this thread to a different section of the site. If they had a problem this would have been deleted or I would have received a guideline reminder. You can post blogs on CC as long as they are hobby sites and they do not make any money. I meet both of those categories. Have a great weekend! I saw from your signature that you cruised the Dream last year. Was that the reposition from Port Canaveral to New Orleans cruise? islandatsea Posted February 25, 2015 #10 Share Posted February 25, 2015 The Celebration was my first time on a Carnival ship during 1994. I was very impressed by the ship and the activities onboard.
Vemnox Posted April 28, 2015 #11 Share Posted April 28, 2015 This was my first cruise. Went out of New Orleans sometime in 1997, I believe. I was only 14 years old or so. Only thing I remember about the ship is this karaoke bar with little clouds on the tables I thought was cool. I also remember a New Orleans streetcar-style bar. Also a weird vague memory of hating the maitre'd (spelling?) of all people.
RICKnVICK Posted June 5, 2015 #12 Share Posted June 5, 2015 My first cruise in 2000. Such a great time and great ship! We cruised her out of Galveston. Vicki
