Celebrity Unfair to Oct 23rd Connie Cruisers

For all other ships that Celebrity cancelled stopping or overnight in Istanbul, another port was substituted except for the October 23, 2015 Connie cruise which got only another day at sea. Celebrity's recent response was that there was not enough time for another port. If that is the case all X has to do is move up the stop of Kusadasi one day (plenty of time) and add another day in Israel. Come on Celebrity, be fair!!!

Sometimes it's not that simple to just arrive into an unscheduled port - the ports have to have a free berth etc these things are usually planned well over a year in advance and it may be simply that they could not shift the ports around with the short notice?

it has nothing to do with fairness.

It has every thing to do with a specific intinerary, miles between ports , port times and available berth, price, fuel useage and God know's what else.

It is not like finding a different hotel to stay at when you decide to go to a different city on a road trip.

Enjoy the added sea day on the Constellation and rest up for the next port of call.

I can understand your disappointment, I would be disappointed also. Even if Celebrity could get space to dock at Kusadasi a day early it is highly likely that the tour operators ( both ship tour operators and independent tour operators) are booked with passengers from other ships. So a stop in Kusadasi without the resources for tours wouldn't make people happy either.

fairness has nothing to do with it. Each port already has other ships booked, each port only has so many resources, so much dock space, so many personnel. Calling for them to do any different than what they have announced shows that you don't understand the logistics involved

Just looked at port schedule. On October 25 there will be 8000+ passengers! No ships in port on October 24 and October 26 has fewer than 150. Come on Celebrity, use your head!

I understand some of the above posters comments but as Jebbs reports , in late October it is entirely possible for X to move up one day the Kusadasi stop as well as adding another day in Israel or add a substitute port. X found it possible to add ports for about 5 or 6 other cruises on Equinox, Reflection and Connie during busier September and early October. X could (and should) provide more than a 4th sea day for only a 12 night Med cruise.
