ie -- can you tip the room cleaners and bar tenders in cash?

Does the ship put any hold on credit cards?

Is cash completely not accepted on board?

ie -- can you tip the room cleaners and bar tenders in cash? YES -- as a matter of fact, I always bring a lot of $1 bills just for that reason.

Does the ship put any hold on credit cards? YES they usually put a $500 hold on your credit card.

What is the earliest you can get there to check-in on departure day? The ship usually is cleared from the previous sailing by 10:30 or so. We normally get to the pier around that time although this year RC is staggering arrivals to prevent long lines in the middle of the day.

TIA!!

We tip in cash all the time. Have not seen a hold on our credit cards. Check-in time would depend on ship and port. Assuming Majesty, you can probably get there as early as 10:30am, but boarding may not begin until sometime after 11am.

You may have some small authorizations appear on your credit card which will drop off at the end when the actual charge appears.

Tips are the ONLY thing you can do with cash on the ship, except for gambling! Anything you purchase will go onto your shipboard account. You can pay your account off in cash at the end of the cruise. You simply can go to a bar and hand them money for your drink, or anything else you buy.

Your tips will be automatically added to your account. If you wish to tip additionally, then those who serve you will NOT turn down your cash!
