You'll pay for your parking as you enter the lot before the cruise--not after the cruise. Because we had a boarding time of 1:30 - 2:30 pm, there was NO line to pay to enter to parking lot. A definite perk of a later boarding time.

To that point if you are planning on getting to the cruise port in the AM I would not recommend using the port's parking. EZPark offers cruise parking and will shuttle you to and from the ship. The port doesn't lease enough parking space to allow the new passengers to park until the previous cruise passengers depart so there is often a wait before they even begin collecting payments from the new parkers.

  • 3 weeks later...
Somehow we got put into late dining. Will we be able to change this to Our Time Dining or Early Dining? What is the procedure? What if we show up earlier than our late seating time?

Thanks!

Shoot an email to the MD. If you wait till boarding, you'll most likely get the switch but you may be asked to do late that first night.

You can park at the BWI parking lots and transfer to cruise. I have never done it but is available. Econoparkexpress.com. $79 for 7 day cruise. Reservations required 5 days in advance. I have used this company numerous times for the airport and Amtrak.

By chance did you take the taxi to Atlantis? If so do you know the fare per person ?

We did not take the taxi, but had friends that did. It was, last week, $4 per person each way. And by the way, Atlantis was worth every penny.

That's even better.......... Maybe when I go it will drop to $3 a person!!

Since you were on the Pride last week...... Was the gangway working at Baltimore?

Leaving Sunday on the Pride. A couple questions:

1. Our embarkation paperwork indicates an 11-1130 arrival time. We are traveling by Uber from about 45 minutes away. Am I correct that the earliest one can board this ship is around 1pm?

We booked too late for FTTF and sitting around the Port of Baltimore does not sound like great fun to us. What is the best time to arrive where we will be able to check in and then just walk onto the ship?

2. Somehow we got put into late dining. Will we be able to change this to Our Time Dining or Early Dining? What is the procedure? What if we show up earlier than our late seating time?

Thanks!

We're leaving on the 26th on the Pride. I'm looking forward to your review

We prefer parking at the port. It's not too expensive ($130 for the week last I knew) and can't get anymore convenient. After the cruise you jump in your vehicle, take a right when exiting the parking lot and you are I-95. I'm not one to wait around for a ride to wherever my car it, I want to get going.

After thinking about it...... I'm with ya!! Don't want to handle my bags twice.

No it was not, and embarkation and debarkation was a nightmare.

We had no problem in late October.

The lines were a bit long for embarcation, but that had nothing to do with the lack of a gangway. Debarkation was a breeze. We debarked in one of the last groups, so we had breakfast in the MDR, then had coffee afterwards in the Lido, and then relaxed on the Serenity Deck until our debarkation time. By that time, the parking lot at the port had very few cars and we were able to quickly drive out and get on I-95. If you don't have a plane to catch, that's the way to do debarkation!

you are right the port is very convenient. i always park on the lot and love when i get off the ship. walk to my car and drive home. i don't want to wait to catch a shuttle to another parking lot. but there is one disadvantage. you have to wait for the people getting off the ship that day and leave the lot before they open the gate to get in. you don't have to wait for everyone to get off just enough to open some spaces. that being said it causes a line of cars waiting to get in and then when you park and walk to the terminal sometimes the lines can be long with everyone parking at the same time and going to the terminal. hopefully the new staggered process will help with that. my sister cruises with us on the spring break cruises and she always gets dropped off at the port. when you get dropped off you can drive in while everyone who is parking is still waiting to get into the parking lot. so every year she gets dropped off and walks right through security and checks in with small lines.

parking is $15 a day for a total of $105. i have cruised on the pride 5 times with a 6th cruise coming up in april. take the kids on a spring break cruise every year on the pride. the first couple of years i cruised out of baltimore they charged you for 8 days total of $120 which was BS. charging you for the sunday of your embarkation. then also charging you for the next sunday on your debarkation. the last 3 times i cruised from baltimore they switched it to 7 days at $15 for $105 which is what they should charge. hopefully they haven't gone back to the double dipping on sunday to get more money. once you get into the lot you will get into a line to drop of your luggage with the porters. then you drive to the line to pay for parking. there are 3 lanes to pay for parking the 2 on the left are for credit card or cash. these lanes can get long. the 3rd lane on the right is for cash only. usually there is no one in this lane and you go right through.

I know no one has touched on this......

In the casino (slots) can you use cash or is everything from your S&S card?

you can use both. put dollars in the regular money in just like a land casino. or use your sign and sail card and set up an account and a password on the slot machine. then you can deposit money into your slot bank account. so then you just put your card in a machine use your pin # then tell the machine how much money to put on the machine as credits. then if you want to leave the machine you hit a button and the credits from the slot machine go back into your slot bank and you take the card out and go to another machine and do the same thing.
