All Things Enchantment of the Seas

Recommended Posts

Hello,

DH and I are thinking about a cruise on Enchantment leaving in January 2012. For anyone who has cruised in the past year, do you have the actual titles of the production shows? I've been on Explorer several times in the past few years and the shows never change. I thought I read on one of the Boards or a review that these shows were different ... but can't find that now. Help!

From my May 9-day Caribbean cruise:

Day 1:Variety show including numbers by Royal Caribbean Singers and Dancers(RCSD)

Day 2: The Music, Memories, and Comedy of Hal Fraiser(guest act)

Day 3:Can't Stop the Rock (RCSD)

Day 4:Comedy and vocal impressions of Joey Vaughn(guest act)

Day 5:Action Comedy of Rick Novell(guest act)

Day 6:Stage to Screen(From Broadway Come the hits that made it to Hollywood including "Hairspray" and "Chicago)(RCSD)

Day 7:The comedy team of "Chucky" and David Morgan(guest act)

Day 8:Oh What A Night starring "The Unexpected Boys"(guest act)

Day 9:Farewell showtime including Comedian Michael Dean Ester and appearances by RCSD

It looks like the Royal Caribbean Singers and Dancers only did full production shows on days 2 and 6.

Oh my gosh! Thank you SO much!!! I had given up hope that anyone would answer my question. This is great because the main thing I wanted to confirm was that they were NOT the same shows currently on Explorer of the Seas. In the past several years, I have taken a total of 4 cruises on Explorer and seen those shows 4 times. I'm SO happy that there are shows I haven't seen as yet.

Just got off the Enchantment and our shows were different than those previously given. We had different comedians, singers, and others. We had a magic act, juggler, an Osmand brother, and some other singer/entertainer. If you would like specifics I can get those for you. Have to pull out the compass.

My DH and I just got off Explorer of the seas and had a wonderful time, we are thinking about doing the Enchantment next year and had a few questions.

Is there a quiet place to sun bathe, not necessary by the pool?

Do they have the promenade in the middle like Explorer?

Do they have the tutti salad on sea days in the MDR?

How is the room service?

Best interior cabin? we are looking to go Jan 2013.

Thanks for all your help!!!

Yes Salad.

Cabin, it depends on what you need.

Cabin Selection

To avoid the motion of the ocean, be in the center of the ship.

Top to bottom. Front to back. Side to side in really bad seas.

Stabilizers do a good job but sometimes …

To avoid noise

What is around you

What is over you

What is under you

Look at the deck plans

To avoid long walks

Where are the elevators

To avoid elevators, where are the steps?

Do you want to be close to MDR, windjammer, pool deck, casino, schooner lounge?

To avoid $

Inside

To get a view

Balcony

We were on Enchantment for 11 nights Dec. 2010 ~ Loved everything about her! Staff was wonderful! This ship is our favorite. We recommended her to our daughter's mother inlaw and sister and they sailed on her in September 2011 and were not disappointed. Enjoy, we will definately sail on her again.

Does anyone have info on the Fitness Center? What sort of classes are offered? Do they have high quality ellipticals? Do they have enough or do you have to wait? Do they have free weights? Cable machines? Stability balls? Squat rack? What are the hours like?

We sailed on the Enchantment February 2011 but I hadn't yet set foot in a gym. Now I'm addicted! I will definitely be hitting the gym this time out! (April)

Hi, everyone - we're booked on the Enchantment in mid-May BTB and were wondering who the Cruise Director is at present. Last time it was John Blair and his lovely wife, Katrina. Thanks!!

John & Katrina were on board on our cruise Feb 18-27. They're both very professional, entertaining, and accessible. :)

According to the CD thread it should be Carley Boileau in May and June"

Thanks, Roy, we've seen Carly before - don't remember which ship - but she was good.

Jumping on the bandwagon here! We are leaving on the Enchantment in 29 days and we are very excited. This is our first time on a larger ship ( have only sailed the Empress) and would like to hear from past Enchantment cruisers. What's the good, the bad and the ugly? ;) What is there that is not to miss on board? Please share your experiences on the Enchantment!

Disney.....we are planning a Disney Cruise for 2013....what ship will u be sailing?

Keep me posted, there will be 11 of us! The kids can't wait and neither can I.

I sailed the Enchantment 2008 to Belize, Cozumel, Key West. Great cruiseship, showing it's wear but it will be going into drydock in Oct for refurbishing. Not too big, just nice size. Nice rooms, clean.Wait staff is terrific, no problems in dining room....they now have My Time Dining. Some days there is only one show and you could very well miss it because of dinner times. We enjoyed all the shows. Casino, one night is "non smoking". Adult pool is very nice. Sailing into Bermuda? Any specifc questions you want to ask. I'll try to best to answer.

Hmmm, just got off the 3/10/12 sailing, and didn't have that problem. We were on late dining, which was usually at 8pm, and sometimes that meant a 6:30pm show, and sometimes 10pm, but we never missed it.

Just saw from a previous post that the Unexpected Boys were on the Enchantment a while back. Note to everyone -- Great show! I saw them on Cunard and was very impressed. Especially if you like Jersey Boys/Four Seasons -- don't miss this show!

Just wondering. Will this be your first time on RCI? I'll be interested in seeing your impressions when you get back. Just in case you might be interested here's my report on my first Enchantment cruise:

Not my first RCI cruise -- I believe this will be my 6th. I have also traveled on Celebrity, HAL, and Carnival. We are taking this trip because the port is fairly easy to get to and it fits with my Spring Break. Have not yet sailed on Enchantment but we were on Grandeur a few years back and really enjoyed it. I do love Cunard because of their extensive enrichment programs and love doing the transatlantics -- back to back!! :)

Couple of quick ?'s from reading reviews and boards:

I am booked in a large outside stateroom (no balcony :-( ) for a June cruise to Bermuda... Hoping prices drop a bit after final payment is due so I can upgrade to a balcony or JS...

1. Is the TV interactive (I can review the bill, order room service) or not? There seem to be mixed info on this?

2. Are there minifridges in the room (again mixed info)?

3. We currently have my time dining but I've read about people getting shut out of the dining room if they do this... should we change to traditional seating?

4. On an 8-night cruise, what's the best night to go to Chops?

I'm sure I'll have other ?'s but that's what I can think of so far...
