Please unbiased option if you have done Oasis and CCL Breeze, I am torn.

Please for those that have been on both, can you please help me.

Although money is a factor, it is not if one does not compare to the other, KWIM:

I am looking between Breeze and Oasis.

For Carnival Breeze in July 2015:

I am looking at 2 cabins, both Cove balconies.

One a double, one a triple.

For Oasis in July 2015:

I am looking at 2 cabins, both double and triple.

Boardwalk View Balcony

The total for 2 cabins on the Breeze is $1390 so $1400 price difference (lower) than the Oasis.

Oasis is one more night of cruising.

$700 per cabin more.

I have a 21 year old daughter and a 17 year old son. Along with my 68 year old mom.

We enjoy going to the specialty restaurants over MDR.

My dh enjoys listening to a Blues Band or a bar with a more intimate feel while my dd likes the club scene and I enjoy both.

My son will meet kids in the club so he should be okay.

One more 7 nighter on RCCL, I'll be Diamond so I am familiar with the cruiseline.

I've done 2 Carnival Ships, Sensation (when they gave NYPD FANTASTIC rate for 9/11 responders) and the Dream the summer it first came out (which we all had a great time).

If you have been on both, which I think some have, I would greatly appreciate your feedback.

Have not done Breeze, but I've done Carnival Magic (Dream class)twice, and just done Oasis OTS in February. The cove balcony is a great option if you like ocean views. There are regular balcony on the Breeze, but if you look down, you will see the promenade deck instead of water. My Mom and Uncle got the boardwalk balcony, and they said it can be a bit noisy until 10-11PM at night. We have an ocean view and I think it's fantastic on the Oasis OTS. Oasis OTS does have more specialty eateries than the Breeze if that is your thing. Both ship should have plenty of venues with live music to entertain all. HTH.

My family including my kids ages 14,16 and 19, along with my parents and a couple of my siblings have been on both ships. We did enjoy both but all of us would agree that we definately liked the Oasis much more.

I felt food, service, and entertainment were much better on the Oasis.

If you enjoy the specialty restaurants you will have many more options on the Oasis. We only tried Giovanni's but loved it.

The shows were fantastic....the Breeze had nothing to compare.

If you told me that you like cruising more to relax in the sun and enjoy the ports then the Breeze would be fine, but if you are going to enjoy more of the amenities on the ship then it would be the Oasis hands down.

We enjoyed it so much we came home and booked the Allure :)

I have not done any Oasis class ships but did Breeze May of 2013. I would not pick the Breeze over any RCCL Voyager class ships or larger. They offer much more than the Breeze does. For your demographic as you explained it, I think your choice is definitely Oasis.

Oh yes, one more thing, almost no live music on Breeze.

Hello. I've sailed both and enjoyed oasis more. The entertainment, pools, scenery, venues , art ....are at another level. I love the breeze casual food options, but the night life and specialty options were not there.

In reality with the extra day on oasis the cost impact is not huge. I am impartial so Either one would work for me, but oasis was so nice I had to book allure. Not as excited to jump back on the breeze. But if the price was right I would go again.

Enjoy

We've done both and Oasis was basically all about the ship which was amazing, I loved Central Park and the kids club was fab for my then. 4 yr old. Breeze was enjoyable but for me that was all about ports (it was a western med cruise in Europe) nice ship , fab food, loved guy's burger joint. & Mexican etc) but no carousel, no Central Park and shows not as good. If you are looking for great ports & a good ship carnival if you are looking for an amazing ship but not worried that the size of ship limits the ports then oasis - as a seasoned cruiser after a relaxing break I'd go oasis every time I think - hope that helps

OK, thank you all!

While I would like to try the Breeze, I would LOVE to sail the Oasis.

I've been going back and forth for a couple of weeks and needed to make up my mind and move forward.

OV Balconies are quite a lot more than the BW View but I have to see what

the price is exactly for two OV Balconies vs. BW View.

We really do love RCCL, so maybe we should do this cruise and then FINALLY become Diamond. I am sailing in a suite in the Haven on NCL in August so need to keep the costs down for next summer sailing.

Would you suggest we book now and just keep watching for price drops?

We have booked our NCL sailing with Costco, since we saved a lot by doing so and OBC.

I don't see a price difference for RCCL and Costco, so I guess we would book with RCCL?

Does RCCL have a pay one price drink package as well as pay one price specialty restaurant package as NCL does? I LOVE this option since it is like an all-inclusive to us since the bar/specialty bill is really what we spend our money on during the cruise.

I think I will talk to my mom and propose the Oasis. My dh will sail whatever I say was the best option after all my research LOL

Thanks all!

We have done both; Central Park Balcony on Oasis (June 2011) and aft wrap on Breeze (January 2013). Loved the aft wrap on Breeze!

Overall, we thought food was better in specialty restaurants on Breeze (steakhouse, italian, chef's); especially the desserts! However, we did Central Park w/ wine pairing on Oasis and thought that was best meal we've had at sea. We did specialties almost every night on both ships as we thought the MDRs weren't so good. Lunch options were much better on Breeze. I realize food is subjective but that was our take.

Entertainment on Breeze not so good as compared to Oasis. In fact, there is no comparison. Shows on Breeze were like high school musicals compared to Oasis. However, the nightly live music at Red Frog pub was nice on the Breeze.

We had a relaxing time on the Breeze as compared to Oasis simply because there wasn't much to do (unless you like trivia 24/7). We spent more time in the casino and relaxing in the sun on Breeze due to lack of activities, which wasn't a bad thing. We did like the adult area (Solarium) on Oasis much, much better. And the cantilever hot tubs are amazing.

Breeze felt more crowded; hallways and passageways seemed narrower. The promenade deck at times on the Breeze was impassible due to narrow halls.

With all that said, we've been going back and forth and booked Allure for this coming January. We both stated that Oasis had the "wow factor" and Breeze didn't (although we enjoyed both); thus we booked Allure.

They offer much more than the Breeze does.

Except for an edible burger INCLUDED in the cruise fare and a USDA PRIME steak INCLUDED in the standard 35.00 pp service charge in the steakhouse :D

I watched Guys Family Cruise on tv and they were on Breeze. Definitely one Carnival ship Im very interested in.

We are Diamond members w Rccl and love the Oasis. I have been on one Carnival cruise and don't remember the name. Have been on 14 Rccl cruises , all the classes of ships, and by far are much better than our one Carnival cruise. We had a balcony over the boardwalk and loved it. On Oasis. With the door shut I didn't hear any noise but we were on a high deck. There didn't seem to be many ppl on the boardwalk at night so don't know where the noise would be coming from except for the show at the aqua theater but we were not close to that. We def. think Oasis is worth the extra money and are willing to sacrifice an ocean balcony (which we get on the other ships and we love) for a cheaper room. We didn't spend much time in our room on the Oasis bc there is just too much we want to do.

I watched that show after I had sailed on Breeze. Shows can sometimes fool you.

Ryano, have to agree on the burger. Guy's is not only included in the cruise fare, it is much better than Johnny Rockets! You got me on that one. ;)

As far as dining room, buffet, and so forth, I will take RCCL. Much better as far as I am concerned.

For you, I know you have a mobility issue. I really think as crowded as it was for those of us that have no mobility issues, I think those that do will have a harder time getting around. Yes, the ship is 100% accessable BUT the large crowded areas will make it difficult.

Thank you all very much!

I just priced out the BW View vs. Ocean View.

There is a $700 difference, which is $350 a cabin.

I can book and keep watching prices, correct.

I've been gone from RCCL for a few years.

Thanks.

Yes, you can book now and keep watching the price. If you see the price lower before final payment, call in and speak with someone and they will lower your bill to reflect. We just did this recently and it worked. However, they told me on the phone that if you have a promotion, you will lose it. For instance, we had $100 on board credit that we lost but the cabin price dropped $400, still a $300 savings, so I said give me the lower price and take the credit :)

We're going on the Oasis next week, so I can't speak for that ship yet, but we were on the Breeze last November (myself (30) and my husband (30). It was a nice ship, but it didn't compare to RC's ships for us. I think it will be our last Carnival ship. The shows have gotten very short (20 minutes) and they relied heavily on music and fancy lighted background without much singing, dancing, acting, etc. The hot tubs are always cold. The food doesn't compare and there are not many options. We did not try most of the speciality restaurants so I can't say much about that other than the Italian one is very good. We also watched the Guy's show before and after the cruise and it wasn't the same. The only good thing I found about that ship was the 4D theater is interesting but it is very jerky so not good if you have back or neck problems and the shows are only 10-15 minutes w/ a variety of about 5 shows that play throughout the week. Also, if you are traveling with someone older, none of the pools on the Breeze are walk in, you must use a ladder.

I've done both and honestly felt there was no comparison. We've sailed both line extensively beyond these 2 ships. Entertainment and just the ship's amenities generally on Oasis blew away the Breeze and we missed the Oasis the entire time we were on the Breeze. The only area Breeze was really comparable was dining, which was at least as good on the Breeze... But for us, we cruise for the ship and entertainment, and there was no comparison in either area.

Thank you all very much!

I've decided it will be Oasis :) although no one knows that yet but you LOL

I was reading a review where the person had a BW Balcony at the stearn and was able to see the ocean and the aqua theatre show. While he said it was too much and too busy, I may like this option but would have to see if there was that much difference in price.

Is there a Ben and Jerrys suite on this ship?

I know I can purchase a beverage package that includes all alcohol, soda and water, is this correct? I cannot do that with the speciality restaurants though, right? I can prebook and pay for them though so that would be good.

THANK YOU ALL VERY MUCH!

While I will like to try Breeze I think we will do Oasis next year :)

It may be less of a letdown after sailing in the Haven on NCL this summer.

SO excited.

No Ben & Jerry's sweet on Oasis/Allure, nor on Voyager class. Only on the 3 Freedom class ships.

Thanks for the info Tim! :) Freedom is the largest ship Ive been on but there were no issues getting around except for it taking a long time sometimes to catch an elevator.

The Breeze elevators seemed to take much longer in my opinion.

You will find much more "openness" on Freedom than Breeze. It was close for me so I'm sure it will be tight for you too. Their traffic flow does not come close the RCCL layouts. They congestion shows up anywhere you go.

We did enjoy the cruise however and had a good time, just didn't get our Royal fix if you know what I mean.

Done both and enjoyed both very much but Oasis was much nicer then the Breeze but I am not sure it is $1400 nicer. I see you are looking at OV and got the difference down to $700. I would look at an inside since in my opinion most of your time on Oasis is not spent in the room. Do the Oasis and try to get the final cost down near the Breeze. The kids will enjoy both ships but Oasis really is built for families and does it very well.

We were offered a free cruise by carnival and decided to sail on the Breeze a few months ago. We have sailed on the Oasis twice and will be headed back again in a few month. Hands down I would say the Oasis is nicer. The Breeze was a nice looking ship and the food was good, etc., but it just didn't compare to what we have come to love on Royal's ships. The pool area was extremely crowded on sea days. I was worried that due to all the people in the water, a child might go under and undetected. We actually did see some grandparents looking for their son and he had somehow gotten into the deeper area undetected. I thought the shows were lacking as well. We did try the specialty italian restaurant on the Breeze and the Italian restaurant, and didn't find either to be a spot we'd go again.

The Oasis has so much more to do and see and as another poster recommended, if you can even do an inside room to get the price down, you might want to consider that. You have enough time before the cruise, so keep watching and maybe the price will come down for you. Enjoy whichever ship you decide. Either way, cruising is a win win for me!

Thank you all for your comments.

We are going to book the Oasis, in an Ocean View Balcony on Deck 6 :)

I appreciated all the comments and read each one.

Thank you.
