Recommendation for island tour - no swimming

Any recommendation for an island?

An excursion to Nelson's Dockyard would be an enjoyable thing for you to do. :)

Fabulous day with Lawrence of Antigua - wonderful tour guide, comfortable van, and we hit the prime sites including Nelson's Dockyard, Shirley Heights, and a nice beach.

One of our all-time favorite excursions on Antigua was through the cruise line, the See Antigua by Sea excursion on the Excellence, a luxury two-tiered cat. Excellent sail and great crew, head out to a snorkel spot followed by a great lunch, and nice motor through English Harbor and along the coast and some of the bluest water we've ever seen.

We used Antigua VIP. It is an all day tour for about 5-6 hours. We did stop at a beach for about one hour but if you are not a beach lover, it is optional. Lunch also included at a local restaurant.

We used Lawrence of Antigua earlier today. Our small group of 6 adults was taken in a van to visit multiple popular sites on the island. Our driver, Akeem was excellent and furnished us with useful information and interesting local insights throughout our tour.

Unfortunately, I'm not able to recommend Lawrence of Antigua. At a brief 30 minute beach stop (volunteered by our driver) at the end of our tour, Lawrence stuck his head into our van and informed us that each person would be now charged and additional $10 for this stop. We explained that our driver had offered to make a brief stop and that no one mentioned there would be an additional fee to do so. Everyone in our group refused to pay the additional amount and Lawrence ultimately backed down. It left a bad taste in what otherwise had been an excellent tour experience.

That is too bad there was an apparent lapse in communication somewhere. We paid extra for Lawrence to wait for us at a beach, obviously that takes more of his time and it sounds like wires got crossed somewhere. I would still recommend Lawrence and write this off to an unfortunate communication or driver issue...
