Quick question about tipping

When using room service, is it customary to tip the server, or is covered in the daily gratuity?

It might vary by cruise line, so asking on the board for the cruise line involved would be recommended. But every cruise line I have been on, we typically tip for room service, regardless of the employee being included in the daily gratuity.

Room service is only covered on Princess....all other lines, tip at time of service!

A few buck here and there go a long way with the cruise ship employees. Believe me, they talk to each other and that $3 buck tip you left for the room service person will entice them to look for you the next time your room cabin comes up. Bartenders too are a wise investment ;)

I typically tip $1-3 for room service, depending on how much was ordered.
