1A are located on the hump which means they have bigger balconies, some of them huge. We had #7026 by the Hideaway and loved it. 2C have ordinary sized balconies and the lifeboats are right below some of them so you can't see down to the water below. Try the ones near the aft to avoid the lifeboats.

Silhouette has all kinds of things to do on sea days. Trivia, cooking demos, egg drop contest (held on one day only), matinees, sales in the shops dance classes Zumba, Pilates etc. You will not run out of things to do.

You haven't asked about this, but if you are willing to pay a bit extra for a Specialty restaurant, do not miss the Lawn Club Grill. You can sometimes get a discount just for asking. It is $50/pp.

If purchased pre-cruise, the cost is $40 USD per person. Quite likely, the price when booking on the ship does go up to $50. If advanced reservations are strong, discounts may or may not be offered.

Thanks for the info!!!! I am in a 1C cabin 8212 for the Baltic cruise in May. Some of the rest of the group are in 2C's. I don't know their cabin numbers yet. 6 widows who have traveled together to China and Australia will be together for this cruise and we are so excited about the itinerary. Some places we have seen before and some new ports!! I find myself very excited about Tallinn as I really enjoy medieval history. We will be in Amsterdam two days ahead of the cruise so we will have some time there. We went ahead and booked SPB tours for St Petersburg and Berlin. We will try the ship tour of Copenhagen and Helsinki and Poorvo. For Tallinn, I printed a Rick Steves walking tour and an app for my iPhone. Tallinn seems like a place I would just like to wander about with some reference information. I think Stockholm we will also so on our own. We are arranging transportation pickup at Frihammen. Thanks to cruise critic for a lot of my research information!!! Have I missed anything important????

The six of you should have a fabulous time together. :)

Have you gone to your roll call for your particular sailing? Others on your cruise will be posting information of all sorts on the roll call thread. Also sign up for the "meet and greet" on your roll call page. Nice gathering with members of the staff and some officers to answer questions, light refreshments and meeting other cruiser.

On European sailings, check out the lectures on sea days. Many times they have great topics about the history of the area you will be visiting.

If you haven't seen it before and love history don't miss the Vasa in Stockholm, its amazing how well preserved this ship is and how close you can get to it. Stunning.

The town hall where the Nobel prizes are awarded had a great sense of history for me.

Tallinn is good walking, there's a little market with great Nordic clothes, hats etc which we had fun browsing in, ear warmers were great souvenirs.

We used the same tour company in St Petersburg and we were very happy with our informative and happy guide, I really enjoyed the metro trip and quick visit to a market as well as all the big must do sites.

Have fun!

Ladyainn - The Vasa museum is the first thing on our list for Stockholm. My heritage is Swedish/Norwegian so I am very excited to be in Stockholm. Did you do a tour or were you on your own in Stockholm? If on your own, was it easy to do??? I can only do so many escorted tours so hopeful this will be easy and freedom to just see what we want.

Tallinn is a great town for walking around on your own with a walking tour map. Wear sturdy, comfortable enclosed walking shoes.

It is much better to be dropped off at the top of the hill and walk down instead of starting from the bottom and walking up.

We did the hop-on-hop-off boat on our own and loved it. We boarded it right behind our cruise ship. The first stop in the morning was the Vasa museum. The boat tickets were good for all day. It was very easy to do on our own.

Check out the time for the changing of the guards ceremony on the day you will be there. There are some days when they have a more elaborate ceremony than others.

The timing coincided nicely for us as our next boat stop right after the Vasa museum. The boat dock where we got off was very close to the palace for the changing of the guards ceremony, and they put on quite a show. It was just sheer luck for us that we happened to be there on a day when they had the fancier ceremony.

We were extremely pleased with SPB tours for St. Petersburg. If you have any special need or request, contact them about it in advance as we found them to be very responsive and accommodating.

You shall have a wonderful cruise.

I too was going to suggest you start your Olde Town Talinn experience at the top of the hill. But be aware that the downward trail is on ancient cobbled streets. There are sidewalks in some areas but crowds will often force you into the streets. Some have auto access too, most do not.

I'm not so sure you would benefit from a ship's tour in Copenhagen. The palaces and museums are in a central location and within easy walking distance. What I would suggest is to take a canal tour. You see the old and new and there are stops along the way. The Little Mermaid is always one of the stops as is the unique Opera House. The boats leave near the center of the city, or actually that part of the city you most likely want to visit. Tivoli Gardens is also walking distance from this area. Try to get as much information about the sites on the X tour. It also depends on which dock Celebrity uses for a day stop. The new pier is farther from the city center. You could also check with Trip Advisor or Tours by Locals for additional tour options.

I would also recommend you visit the Vasa as early as possible. The lines can get very long and it is definitely worth seeing.

I'd also recommend a smaller group tour of Helsinki. The sites are not quite as accessible by foot here. SPB may offer a tour here too. In the past they have adjusted rates for multiple city bookings.

I've not been to Poorvo so I can't be of any help there.

As someone suggested, good walking shoes are a necessity. You will find more paved streets in St. Petersburg but you will also cover many marble floors and stairs, and hopefully the pea gravel in the gardens at Peterhoff.

Have a glorious cruise.

We walked from the ship in Tallinn and loved it but thieves got into my bag which was strapped across my body luckily there was no money just tissues hand sanitizer and lipstick don't let this spoil your time but beware!

Helsinki was beautiful we walked round the corner picked up the local bus and asked for an all day ticket, we got off at the market which is where the boats take you to the islands, our 6€ bus ticket allowed us to get the boat to the fortress island where we picked up a walking tour from the tourist info office. It was a memorable day with a lovely lunch at a restaurant.

Have a great cruise
