Tinker Travel

Anyone use the Tinker service for transport from Amsterdam airport to a hotel? Someone mentioned it in our Roll Call but I can't find any info on Tripadvisor about them. They have a nice website but just not sure if I should use their service. Hoping someone on the site can give me an idea of their service. Thanks

We used them in AMS. It was not really a private transfer in the following ways:

There were several parties waiting for Tinker at the meeting point, not just us. And the meeting point wasn't easy to locate.

We were all 'escorted' to a holding area quite a walk away from the meeting point.

We had a wait there of @20 minutes before our taxi arrived.

Once in the cab, it was just fine, but I prefer using services that greet us as soon as we exit baggage with a sign with our name and escort us immediately to the awaiting vehicle.

We used them in July twice in Amsterdam, once from airport to hotel and later from hotel to airport. You can book a private car "comfort class" which is what we did. They were less expensive than a taxi. It was convenient to pay when making the reservation so there was no wondering how much it would cost. They were prompt, courteous, and very nice vehicles. I would use them again.

Well I went ahead and booked from the airport to our hotel in the private car. I'm thinking of doing the same thing from the hotel to the cruise port if they offer that service. Thanks for the input.

We just had our b&b order us a cab, which arrived quickly even though Amsterdam was crowded for the Gay Pride Canal Boat Parade that day.

For our return from the ship to AMS, we got a group together and used airport taxi transfers booking a vehicle for 8 but only had 6 to provide room for luggage- that came to 8 Euro pp.

What was the cost from the airport ??

Sorry I don't recall, but it was less than a regular taxi. I did notice on Tinker web site the price changed based on advance or later reservations. It was stress free knowing that somebody would be @ the airport to pick us up. It wasn't a hassle finding them either. I believe they only supply transportation to and from the airport.
