Which out you suggest?

BW Plus - Can get free room with expiring points, but would have to Uber there and out to dinner night before

Hyatt Place - $109.00 Value Trip Rate, $2.00 shuttle and could walk to Gilberts or Outback for dinner

Which would you choose?

Are you only looking for a place to sleep or will you have time to explore at least a little of Fort Lauderdale?

Its a no brainer if you want to be on the beach and across the road from the intracoastal (including a water taxi stop) - pick the Best Western! Hyatt Place, on the other hand could be located in an area of strip malls anywhere in the states (well it does have palm trees nearby so not just anywhere :D).

At the Best Western, you aren't far (.1 mile) from Bahia Cabana restaurant (cheap and on the intracoastal) and (.6 mile) Coconuts (moderate, on the intracoastal and one of the best IMHO restaurants in Fort Lauderdale) - both a lovely walk along the beach and then a block over to the intracoastal.

If your major/only objective is discovering the least expensive alternative I would suggest doing a spreadsheet including all your costs.

I'd pick the BW. Near to enjoy the beach walk. No need for a ride to dinner. If looking casual, for sure try Bahia Cabana. Fun super casual with good food and views of the marina.. Or as mentioned Coconuts.

As mentioned, you will have a Florida feel here. As opposed to being on a busy commercial street where Hyatt Pl. sits.

Hyatt Place...we walk to Duffy's. Just stayed there this past March instead of Embassy Suites.
