Weather on the Rhine

We are taking a river cruise on the Rhine from Basel Switzerland to Amsterdam the second week of September. Can anyone please tell us what weather we should expect? Thanks.

Most likely you'll have warm days and cool nights so layers work well. You'll want a waterproof outer layer or an umbrella.

Warm days for sure. It will be absolutely wonderful! The Rhine cruises are a delight! Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy! Also, don't sign up for every single excursion possible. Give yourself a little down time to enjoy your river boat!

Hmmmm. I should be warm. And it might be sunny, cloudy or rainey :). Just like in Pittsburgh. But how can anyone in "Steeler land" leave during the football season :).

Maybe they are taking their tablets and have some kind of magical streaming app that will work in Europe so they can see the Black and Gold in action ;)

No joke, the weather can be as variable as in Myron Cope-land. Keep an eye on the various weather apps as you get closer to figure out what to take. What I will say is this: Any river I've been on feels cooler than when we dock. It's that water that keeps it pleasant. So, don't let the temperature fool you - it will be warmer on land, sometimes by 10 degrees.
