7 miles beach before tour?

Hi,

We are in Grand Cayman from 10:30 AM till 6PM and have a Stingray tour planned which starts at 1:45 from the cruise terminal.

We want to visit the 7 miles beach before going on the Stingray tour, but we wonder if we'll have enough time for this?

We're planning on getting off the ship ASAP and take the public bus to the 'Calico Jacks' to enjoy the beach for some time.

Also, since we will be on the beach for a very short period we are not planning on renting chairs. Is it OK to just sit on your towel on the beach?

Yes, you can just use a towel...you aren't required to rent chairs!!! Now, as to time...If you can get on one of the 1st tenders and get to the beach by 11:30, you might have time for an hour or so.......coming BACK from the beach is always a much slower trip than TO the beach. One road...major traffic...

You will be in the water for the Stingray thing...so that's really going to be a FULL beach day! Wear plenty of sunscreen!!!

Most cruise lines have a process as to who gets to shore on the early tenders. Priority goes to Suite guests, Diamond, Platinum guests, or if you booked a tour through the ship.

If not in one of these groups you may not hit shore for 60-90 minutes.

We arranged to be picked up around 1:15 PM at 7 mile beach, adjacent to the Westin, so that will give us some time to visit the beach!

Does anyone know if you can access the beach via the Westin? Are you required to pay entry?

caribsun is right.....those that don't have a ship sponsored tour will be the last to get off of the ship. Since it gets there at 10:30 you very well might not even be able to get off before noon, which wouldn't leave you much time for the beach.

It all depends on the time we can disembark the ship. Is the beach accessible through/near the Westin? Or do we have to pay a fee?

Since we will only be there for an hour....
