Light weight Binoculars

I don't have a bunch of money, but can someone direct me to where to buy good quality, light weight binoculars? I will only use them occasionally ... just vacations.

I would go to amazon.com. Bushnell is a reputable brand. We have a small pair we take to football games and traveling that are small and easy to carry in a purse or day pack.

I'd go to a sporting goods store where you can 'try on' various binoculars and find ones you are comfortable with. When you decide on a pair, you can buy them from wherever, but I think it's important to try them on first.

I also suggest buying fogproof/waterproof.

I too would go to a sporting goods store.

Like a camera I feel it is important to try them out.

I got my in-laws two pairs of 8x32 ZRS before their Alaska cruise in May. They love them. It is feather weight at 16oz. It is almost as bright as my other larger binoculars. I agreed with other posters. You need to make sure they are waterproof and fogproof

Have a pair of binoculars that my dad brought home from WW2, they are better than what you find in the stores. Always take them when going up to Alaska.

we have a pair of 10x42 Summit waterproof binoculars for Alaska cruise. I think it is slightly over 20oz. I have relatively small hands. But the binoculars is compact enough to fit fine.

I have some ZRS binoculars since 2007, which is very nice and easy to pack for several of my cruise trips. I was browsing their website to try to see an option to upgrade my binoculars for the next trip. It looks like they are going to make a newer 2015 year Summit binoculars. With their discount coupon (I believe the code is 2015ZRS), it is even cheaper than their older model. But we have to wait until after Christmas to receive them. I guess that is probably ok since our next trip is scheduled for June next year.
