Gift cards for S&S with remaining balance...

If I use my carnival gift cards for my sign and sail account, will I be able to get the amount remaining in cash form? Or will they reissue me another gift card?

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe if the gift cards are charged to the S&S, the money will stay on your account and can be used for the future. I'm not so sure so make sure you get a positive answer.

Technically, they will refund the remainder in the form of another gift card sent to your home. I always use the casino trick to cash out on the last evening.

How do you do that? It might be a dumb question, but I've never visited the casinos while cruising. :confused:

Just go to the casino cage and take out the amount of cash against your S&S account.

If it is more than $5, they will mail you a check within a week of your return.

Anything less than $5, it is donated to St. Jude.

I've done this twice. Gotten a check twice.

Be careful if you have promotional OBC on your account....I had used gift cards on my S&S account but I also had a $100 OBC at the start of the cruise. I had a little over $100 still on my account on the last night so I went to guest services to see if they would refund it or what my options were. The GS person told me that it would not be refunded since it was my promotional OBC. Apparently the way they process these things the system did not recognize that money as mine, but as the promo OBC. The GS person told me that if I did not spend it I would just lose it.

I went to Cherry on Top and bought a $100 Carnival gift card :)
