HMC is a private island. You wont get haggled but locals trying to sell you things. everything on the island is owned by Carnival and is a cashless island...you use your sail and sign card for purchases on the island. its a very peaceful and quiet island. If you want a REALLY relaxed day....HMC is the way to go.

HALF MOON CAY ALL THE WAY!!!!! It's GORGEOUS there!!! Sand is as soft as baby powder & they serve you a complementary barbecue lunch while on the island. It's a great beach day with plenty of things to do, you'll LOVE IT!!!!

I thinking about a bahama cruise. The top two contenders visit either Freeport or Half Moon Cay (both hit Naasau). Which port do y'all prefer and why?

It's no contest-HMC wins hands down. It was one of the most beautiful beaches we have ever visited. Can't wait to visit there again some day.

If you check out your shore excursion options for Freeport, and see something you really really want to do, like canoe out to the National seashore, then I would say Freeport. BUT if you want a lovely day in Paradise, on one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, then HMC hands down!

We just got back from HMC two days ago. My wife and I have never had a better day while on a cruise.

I wish Carnival would have a five day cruise that just anchors off HMC for the entire five days. How great would that be. Tender back and forth. Open the casino at night and free BBQ during the day.

I am already planning my next cruise to HMC for my birthday.
