Bottles of wine

Hi all

Some has said to me that we can buy a bottle of wine in the bar, have a glass and they will keep the bottle there for the next time

Is this correct

Well yes in the dining room but never heard of it in a bar. Don't see the advantage. Just buy a glass it is about the same price pro rata and it is going to be fresher.

My friend does this all the time and it works out cheaper to buy the bottle rather than by the glass.
