Miami in January 18,2015

Looking for a hotel in Miami for January 18, 2015 before cruise and prices seem so much higher than December when I have cruised before. Is this usual for Miami? Thanks.

This is a peak time for Miami.

My experience is that prices go up a few days before Christmas and then can remain high for most of the winter time.

YES this is par. Especially if you are looking at the first two weeks in Dec. Cheaper hotels will be nearer the airport. But then you are pretty much stuck. OR for sure look at the discount sites for downtown hotels.

Blue Herons is right...MLK in Jan. and Presidents weekend in Feb. are peak pricing.

And on top of that hotel rates all over are up at least 5% from last year. And people are paying it.
