Buying wine in Texas

Hey all not sure what texas law is on wine sales we fly in on Saturday to bush and I am driving straight to galveston should arrive about 7pm can I still buy wine for my wife to carry on are the liquor stores or can u buy it anywhere

you can buy wine ABOUT everywere. Kroger stores, etc. i also think it is like beer in that you can buy it after noon on sundays altho liquor stores are closed on sundays

Since you will likely be driving I-45 to Galveston, you might want to think about stopping at the Specs in downtown(actually Midtown) Houston. They have a HUGE selection (they make total wine look like a convenience store). Just checked and they are open until 10am-9pm, Monday through Saturday. Here is their address:

We bought out wine at the Calgary Airport when departing for a cruise out of Miami. Sold in tetrapacks. Not the greatest quality, but very convenient :D

You can even get it at Walmart...;)

I bought my wine at Walgreens in Galveston the night before. As mentioned Specs in Houston will blow away anything in Galveston but at least there are some options.

There is a Spec's in Galveston on 61st. A small version of the one on Smith in Houston but a good selection of wines.

Yes Spec's original main store in Houston is an adventure.

Specs in Galveston though is Spec's of Houston

and is just a very large liquor

but

with a wide variety of domestic and world fine wines. We are very fortunate to have it here for the selections.

You would not be dissapointed with Specs or Kroger or Walgreens

depending on your tastes.

We picked up wine from Randall's on 61st Saturday night, Spec's was already closed.
