Depart time out of Los Angeles International

Carnival has advised us not to book a flight at the end of our trip no sooner than 1pm. Ship docks at Long Beach at 9am. If we book a departing flight at 12:45 will that give us enough time to get to the airport?

12:45 PM would be fine to get to LAX. But do plan to be on the first group off the ship and you'll want to arrange for a private transfer.

Otherwise I would take a later flight.

Look into flights from LGB, the Long Beach airport. It's a little gem of an airport. I try to fly into/out of there now when I'm doing Southern California rather than LAX. Delta, USAir/AA, and JetBlue go from here. You'd have less hassle of the old "405" parking lot than driving all the way up to LAX.

I think this is better for you. LAX is in construction hell right now, so give yourself extra time getting in and out.
