KaraokeQueen Posted October 31, 2015 #28 Share Posted October 31, 2015 Enjoyed the synopsis Mary Ann. It's one line that never attracted us, regardless of its mariner history.
les37b Posted January 6, 2016 #29 Share Posted January 6, 2016 (edited) I love london - but then I would say that as I live here and never tire of what it has to offer. Plus it helps when you work as I do in the beige building to the left in this photo and have a window desk and admire the comings and goings of the Thames all day! haha Ship is the Silver Cloud on its second visit to the Tower Bridge last year. (I was lucky enough to be on its first one in June) Of course London can be expensive, but as others have said, its possible to do London cheaper than 5* prices and forums like this are a good source for info.. eg travel by tube and bus with an oyster card instead of going by taxi Museums are free Get a app like taste card and get 50% of meals in many restaurants Dont stay in the centre on London - catch a train or tube to where your day trip takes you. Like most things, budget and minimum standards are a big factor, but its possible not to spend a fortune is all I'm saying! les37b Posted January 6, 2016 #30 Share Posted January 6, 2016 It isn't so bad if American's take advice about London from Brits instead of other Americans. Absolutely.
