elycelynne Posted April 27, 2017 #1 Share Posted April 27, 2017 I used to swear by Pantene's product, but they've gone and changed the formulation. Their new version weighs my hair down too much and doesn't hold as well. Does anyone have a recommendation for a reasonably-priced replacement that would work well on my thin and fine hair? samiam0403 Posted April 29, 2017 #3 Share Posted April 29, 2017 Having long-ish, fine hair as well, I've been using Big Sexy Hair Blow Dry Volumizing Gel for years. It works great even if you don't blow dry. Not sure what I'll do if they ever stop making it!
Silvery Seas Cruiser Posted April 30, 2017 #4 Share Posted April 30, 2017 I have thin fine hair and gave up on gels. I use mousse instead. I even have to be careful with that because some are too aggressive. I am careful to buy ones that say "light hold" or a similar phrasing. Firm hold mousses weigh my hair down too much. Currently I am using a Tresseme mousse that is formulated for humid conditions. Clear back in the eighty's before there were good mousses available, I used to buy DEP gel and water it down to a very light liquid and that worked quite well. it was amazing how much that could be watered down. I bet I watered it down sixty percent or more and it still worked great.

brunello22 Posted May 1, 2017 #6 Share Posted May 1, 2017 I have very fine hair and use Kenra Perfect Blowout Light Hold Styling Creme. I use a dime size amount, sometimes a little less, and it does not weigh my hair down.

I use a dime size amount, sometimes a little less, and it does not weigh my hair down. I'd like to try that. I am not familiar with the Kenra brand. brunello22 Posted May 5, 2017 #8 Share Posted May 5, 2017 I'd like to try that. I am not familiar with the Kenra brand. I usually purchase my Kenra products through my hairdresser (I use their shampoo and conditioner too), although I trust you can find it online, through Amazon.
