Pearl Harbour tour on December 7

Will be in Hawaii on December 7 and we are interested in doing a tour of Pearl Harbour on December 7, has anyone done this before? If so what's the best way to do this? We won't be on a cruise instead, we're staying in Oahau. Do the tour companies set this up or is it even done on Dec 7 due to the memorial service that day?

You might want to contact the NPS. I suspect it will be crazy busy that day, for the obvious reason.

That day is very busy, and IMHO, should be for survivors and their families.

Since the online tickets for December 7th are not on sale yet I would call and see if it is possible. It would be a very moving and memorable day to be at Pearl Harbor so I hope you can make it work. Cherie

I would sort of Google Pearl Harbor or the National Park Service and send them an email asking that very question. It would be amazing to attend the memorial service at Pearl Harbor that day, but we just don't know if it is open to the general public.

On a note, I have a very good friend who was on the original crew of the Missouri. he is one of only 5 people left from the crew when the Japanese surrendered. Every year they used to have a reunion on the Missouri, but since there are so little of them left and most are too old to travel, it has been done away with. They still have a reunion for all past crew members of the Missouri, but that isn't done in Pearl Harbor.
